🇧🇬 Bulgaria is asking the EU for urgent support to counter foreign interference (especially Russian disinformation) ahead of its parliamentary elections on April 19. Sofia wants to avoid a scenario similar to Romania's 2024 elections and has requested help from the EEAS and the Digital Services Act.

“Organized skepticism” — testing hypotheses against real-world evidence — is the heart of science. But in climate debates, dissent is often demonized rather than examined. That’s ideology, not inquiry. cornwallalliance.org/environmentali…

BREAKING 🇵🇱🇭🇺: The office of Polish PM @donaldtusk just released a statement and video regarding Hungarian government informing Russian government abut every EU move. “What we heard today is confirmation of a very disturbing dependence of Viktor Orbán's government on the Moscow authorities. The recordings revealed dependencies, but they also showed how the foreign minister of a member state reports to the Russian minister on the completion of a task and asks for patience. Nothing more repulsive could have been expected, and this is disqualifying.”

HUNGARIANS REJECT ORBAN Something unusual is happening in Hungary—and it’s getting harder to ignore. At a rally meant to show strength, Viktor Orbán was met with boos from his own crowd. Not silence. Not polite applause. But open frustration. People chanting the name of his opponent. That moment says more than any poll ever could. For years, Orbán has tried to frame his politics as “nationalism”—a defense of Hungarian identity and sovereignty. But more and more Hungarians are starting to question what that really means. Because when “nationalism” starts looking like alignment with Moscow, people notice. His long-standing closeness to Vladimir Putin is no longer something that can be brushed aside. Critics argue that Hungary’s foreign policy has drifted too far from the European mainstream, raising uncomfortable questions about loyalty and direction. Allegations that his government maintains unusually close communication with the Kremlin during key EU moments only add fuel to that fire. And here’s the reality Orbán can’t spin away: many Hungarians do not want to leave the European Union. They do not want isolation. They do not want to trade their future for political theater. Poll after poll has shown strong public support for EU membership—and significant sympathy for Ukraine. What happened at that rally wasn’t just a bad day. It felt like a signal. A signal that the narrative is cracking. A signal that people are no longer buying what they’re being sold. A signal that patience is running out. Orbán built his power on control of the message. But when the crowd itself turns, the message changes. And now the question isn’t whether discontent exists—it clearly does. The question is: how much longer can he hold on?

It’s now been definitively confirmed what many of us have long suspected: the Hungarian government is leaking sensitive information to Russia. FM Szijjártó is effectively hand in glove with Lavrov, and information from EU and NATO meetings appears to flow through him straight to Putin. Let’s not pretend nothing is happening. Any information shared with Hungary should be treated as if it were sent directly to the Kremlin.

We can no longer pretend that Viktor Orbán is simply a 'difficult' EU partner. He has fundamentally broken his contract with the European community. Transcripts reveal a shocking level of subordination to the Kremlin that is utterly disqualifying for any EU member state. Recordings capture Szijjártó reporting to Lavrov during breaks in EU Council meetings. In these exchanges, Szijjártó is heard providing "direct reports" on confidential EU discussions and even asking for "patience" while he completes specific tasks. These recordings don't just suggest a preference for Russian interests. They prove a master-servant relationship that compromises the security of the entire European Union. There is a word for a government that takes orders from a foreign aggressor while reaping the benefits of European solidarity: betrayal. Polish PLDonald Tusk: "What we heard today, and what we had already suspected, is merely a confirmation of a very disturbing political dependency—the dependency of Viktor Orbán’s government and his Foreign Minister, Mr. Szijjártó, directly on the Moscow authorities. It has been a long time, if ever in my life, since I heard something so sad. What these recordings revealed is not just the fact of a political dependency between the government in Budapest and Moscow, but it also showed how unacceptable and how peculiar this relationship is. Just listen: the Foreign Minister of a European country, a member of the European Union, reports to the Russian Foreign Minister on the completion of a task and asks for patience because he knows he still has a few more tasks to perform. I mean, one could not have expected anything more disgusting. This is absolutely disqualifying. And I have the impression that while the Hungarians—you know, Poland loves Hungary, Poles love Hungarians. This is a friendship that has survived decades and centuries. And that is why it is so important to me that everyone in Hungary also hears that nothing has changed here, and that we are happy to be members of the European community together with the Hungarians. What is sad is that Viktor Orbán’s government—certainly Viktor Orbán and Minister Szijjártó—left that European Union a long time ago."

I met with EU HRVP @kajakallas. The key priority is unblocking the €90 billion financial support package for Ukraine. These funds are critically important and serve as a financial security guarantee not only for Ukraine but for all of Europe. This very package must ensure our defense and send a signal to the Russians that their war will be doomed to fail. This signal depends on Europe, and it is essential that this signal is sent so that the war can end sooner. We also discussed the need to increase pressure on Russia and the work on opening the negotiation clusters for our EU accession. I am grateful to Kaja Kallas for this visit of European ministers to Ukraine on the fourth anniversary of the liberation of Bucha from Russian occupiers. It is important that every Russian perpetrator is held accountable for all the pain Russia has brought to our people.

New evidence shows: Orbán and his government aren’t serving Hungary, they’re serving Putin. @FM_Szijjarto seems to be taking direct orders from Moscow, trying to remove people form sanctions lists. This cannot stand. Europe must act now: ➡️Suspend Hungary’s voting rights ➡️Cut off access to sensitive info ➡️Exclude them from negotiations vsquare.org/kremlin-hotlin…
