Day 38 : For the first time in 9 years, our Land base survey has reported zero Humpback whale sightings during the peak period. This unprecedented absence has also impacted local operators who were gearing up for whale watching tours this year.

This morning, Dr. Erustus Kanga, the Acting Director General of the Kenya Wildlife Service (KWS), attended a consultative breakfast meeting with Kenya's wildlife conservation partners. The meeting was hosted by the Principal Secretary for Wildlife, Hon. Silvia Museiya.
