A 26-year-old InDrive driver, identified as Gerald, lost his vehicle after a suspected theft incident that took place in Chitungwiza. According to reports, Gerald was parked at Chikwanha Shops when he received a ride request. He picked up a male passenger who asked to be taken to Unit B in Chitungwiza. When they arrived, the passenger told Gerald he wanted to make a quick stop to see his girlfriend. They drove into a nearby street and stopped in front of a house. The passenger then asked Gerald to get out of the car and knock on the gate. As soon as Gerald stepped out of the car, the passenger quickly moved into the driver’s seat and sped off with the vehicle, leaving Gerald stranded. The stolen car is a Honda Fit valued at around US$8,000. The matter has since been reported to the police, and investigations are currently underway.
