Yesterday morning in Lusaka, I met with @KabasuugaCissy, Country Director of the World Food Programme (WFP) in Zambia. I thanked WFP for hosting the African Risk Capacity (ARC) Regional Office and for the strong partnership in advancing the Replica Programme, early warning systems, and disaster risk financing to better protect vulnerable communities from climate shocks across Africa.

At today’s #IWD2026 in Lusaka, UN RC @MutaliBeatrice noted that while Zambia has progressed in justice and health, women globally still hold only 64% of the legal rights men do. We must dismantle discriminatory laws to ensure "rights" aren't just hollow promises. 🇿🇲🇺🇳
