what’s a clear example of medical misogyny you’ve witnessed or experienced?

@Sxnt1_Sxndxval Seems he took advantage of the friendship and didn't do his job. So you did what you needed to do to protect your company. I would've done the same. Shame on the friend for not taking you or the job seriously. Very disrespectful on his part.

@Halo_chains I wish her mom had given you a heads up. Not sure if it would've changed anything but you may have been better prepared. You respected her wishes and got her mom. Kinda mad at her mom's reaction but we can't help what other mom's do or say. Hope the young lady is ok.

Hosted my 8yo daughter’s birthday sleepover as a single mom. One girl (first sleepover, no heads-up) woke up at 1:30am crying, terrified, begging for her mom.
I tried comforting her for a while but she was spiraling, so I called her mom to pick her up. Mom showed up annoyed and later texted that I should’ve “waited it out” till morning , now her daughter’s embarrassed and scared of future sleepovers. I wasn’t told this was her first time away from home, and I didn’t want to force a distressed kid to stay during my child’s party.
Was I wrong for sending her home instead of staying up all night playing therapist?
Single moms especially what would you have done?

@Bunny_ngl So they'll under tip and the burger people will over tip and it'll all balance out

@Suzierizzo1 They've always done this we just don't have smart phones or social media back in the day

@iky_fwjett What a fragile man that the English language hurts his feelings. Did he not go to school and learn about pronouns and adverbs and adjectives? How pathetic. I hope your sister is ok
English

My moms bf tore up my little sisters homework because it was about pronouns
It wasn't even about changing somethings pronouns it was literally just the basic concept of them and when he found out he got so pissed off that the school was teaching this stuff that he ripped it up and told her it was better to get an f than to be learning about it.
When I confronted him about it he started going on a rant about schools being too liberal and that pronouns didn't exist until my generation made them up.
I wrote a note for her teacher explaining that my sister did the homework and did it correctly and explained why she wouldn't be able to turn it in.
Hopefully she doesn't get in trouble for this
English

@ok6ixx Absolutely. Our history has been so white washed and distorted. And of course the truth is going to make people uncomfortable. Reminds me of why they want to ban To Kill a Mockingbird. If we don't learn from history we're doomed to repeat it. Hence our world right now.

(I'm a high school history teacher. Midway through the semester we started covering the Civil Rights Movement. I showed a documentary with footage from protests and sit-ins. A few days after a quiz on the subject, I got a furious phone call from a parent.)
Father: "If you don't tell me who authorized this propaganda, I'm filing a complaint with the district TODAY"
Me: "Uh... good afternoon, sir. I'm [My Name], I teach U.S. History. What exactly are you referring to?"
Father: "I'm talking about YOU filling my daughter's head with lies about American history and making her think this country was built on racism"
Me: "I'm sorry, what?"
Father: "You showed her a film depicting America as some evil oppressive nightmare! She came home crying saying she was ashamed to be American"
Me: "What's your daughter's name, sir?"
He told me and I immediately remembered her because she was the most engaged student during that entire unit, asking thoughtful questions and taking detailed notes.
Father: "You liberal piece of garbage, I won't have you brainwashing our kids with revisionist nonsense! The Civil Rights Movement didn't happen the way you're teaching it! You're pushing a political agenda"
Me: "Sir, with all due respect, how can you possibly deny that the Civil Rights Movement happened?"
Father: "What?"
Me: "We're literally teaching documented American history. The protests, the marches, the legislation, these are verifiable historical events with mountains of evidence, photographs, video footage, and living witnesses. There's no agenda here. This is just factual history that happened within living memory."
Father: "You're distorting the truth"
Me: "Sir, I'm very sorry, but if you're going to deny well-documented historical events that fundamentally shaped modern America, then I can't help you. I strongly encourage you to speak with your daughter about what she's actually learning rather than assuming the worst."
I politely ended the call. The next day I showed another documentary, this time about the Freedom Riders. And naturally, that man's daughter was completely captivated, taking notes furiously and asking to borrow books on the subject. I think I might've inspired a future historian.
“Should schools teach the full truth of history, even when it makes people uncomfortable?”

I guess the Dale Jr. Download won't be the No. 1 NASCAR-related podcast this week. Great way for NASCAR to make New Heights hahaha

@Iveslueur My dad was no saint. He had his moments even with me. Did I let him know when he was out of line? Absolutely. And he learned just like any other man would if they wanted to. Do men forget they have a mom when they insult and degrade women?
English

@MmisterNobody No because they don't have lockers where my kid goes to school. Because of the mass shootings. Because it's easier to provide chrome books than gun legislation.
