Opinion: Why I think Budapest will be a disappointing investment I believe Budapest will be a high-supply, low-demand investment that will become extremely illiquid over time. Both Copenhagen and Shanghai are amazing borderless collections that became heavily undersupplied due to Paris fatigue. Investment confidence in borderless collections was at an all-time low. Then came Austin, which was removed without notice, resulting in much lower supply than intended. These three previous Major collections (Copenhagen, Shanghai, Austin) are performing well. This is a good reason for people to put money into Budapest. We can already see that Steam Market supply for Budapest is relatively high, while its designs are (arguably) much worse-looking. Budapest will become a true niche market as time passes. Embroidered sucks, blocky design, cluttered backgrounds. I don’t see it going crazy, and the current investment hype is mainly driven by the performance of Copenhagen, Shanghai, and Austin. I still believe borderless = king and even Austin is more appealing than Budapest. Out of four past Majors (Copenhagen, Shanghai, Austin, Budapest) I believe these will perform worst 🇭🇺📉
