Hot take incoming (not really), artists enjoy making characters that look cute or hot. The intention is not always "goonerbait" or "tHe MAle gAzE", it's just artists making art they enjoy making. I'm sorry but creating attractive characters is just more enjoyable. Sometimes artists just wanna make a character look cute, hot, or cool because it’s fun. That’s it, it ain't that deep.

I don’t know if the image is AI or not but those AI detecting websites are completely unreliable. Using them won’t prove anything. I have seen them flagging real art as AI and AI “art” as real many times. It’s the same as those AI detectors some teachers use at school, it does not work.

Using 3D models IS using reference. You don’t literally just trace over it, you use it as a guide to portray a pose more accurately. If you just trace it without knowing what’s going on underneath the drawing will look terrible. How is it “cheating” when it’s something profesional artists use. Also, saying that “you are making fanart for a silly art site” and asking you to “be serious” in the same statement just highlights how stupid this is 🤦

@mochisaiiVT 3 years is crazy, I would be very surprised if they actually finish it. They should have refunded you very long ago or at least give you a discount for that insane delay. These kind of people give artists a bad rep 🤬

Almost 3 years and counting! The person and their "manager" keep telling me that someday it'll get done, and I get small sketch updates, but nothing else. They did a bunch of big VTuber's comms though, so good for them I guess.
