From someone who has been in fandoms for like, 15+ ish years atp - yeah fandom toxicity was a thing but it was usually regulated to personal beef. Now you have people being shitty over things like basic ass fandom activity, like shipping or writing fanfics.

@inuro Correct. The host arrives early, and the BBQ is scheduled for when it is ready. Guests arrive then. And not all BBQ takes 12 hours! Only slow smoked brisket and ribs. Pork, beef steak, and chicken are much faster.

ツイッター上では遠くから見て楽しそう言えるけど。これ会場で12時間とか拘束されるイベントなので、会社、親戚付き合いで断れない系のイベントだった側面があるわけで、ポリコレ云々は置いといて脱落したかった人々、滅ぼしたいとは思わずともついてけない人々も多かったと聞く。

To all my new Japanese friends, if you ever find yourself in the American south and you see Tea on the menu of a restaurant, make sure you ask if it's hot or cold tea before you order. Chances are it'll be cold tea, most likely with enough sugar to put you in a coma 😅.

@chukoshahunter Luckily, there are many BBQ specialized restaurants across the US where you can get all of these. You don't need to travel specifically to a state. Just make sure they serve a 12+ hour brisket!
