@kirawontmiss For the same reason you see fewer stars when you are in a town, or near any kind of light source. They are drowned out by the brighter source, so you don't see them at all.

Why is it that on 𝕏 so many non Americans primarily speak about American politics?

@PeterP_1985 Also, the idea that comparison is pointless doesn’t hold - hardware, performance, and flexibility are real differences that matter when people are deciding where to spend money. There’s no wrong way to game, but that doesn’t make the comparison meaningless.

@PeterP_1985 And while it’s not a conspiracy, platform holders benefit from loyalty and lock-in, so these narratives stick.

This new obsession with comparing console to PC is so damn stupid. Consoles have always been the cheaper option in terms of £ to performance. Not cutting edge, but a good balance of price to perf with the allure of plug n play. PC is an entirely different product, serving variable needs and can be cutting edge, vastly better than console, with the right level of investment. Consoles warriors and PC warriors arguing out of insecurity is the most childish thing. Live and let live, there is no right or wrong way to game.

@CrimsonDesert_ I'm unable to finish the Dimensional Bonds Abyss Puzzle - the animation does not play, and I don't get the prompt to go to the center.

@mark_slapinski Because the system is corrupt - and keeping the military-industrial complex running depends on it.

@Grummz Sounds like sour grapes to me. Absolutely loving Crimson Desert personaly, and haven't played anything remotely as good for some time.

Ouch. Larian (BG3) Director of Publishing slams Crimson Desert as: "cynical amalgamation of borrowed mechanics." I disagree. Most novel things are combinations of past ideas put together in new ways. Larian itself borrowed from games I've worked on, like Diablo and WoW.

I’m Japanese and studying English. I’m learning about the differences between American English and British English. Is this accurate?🇺🇸🇬🇧😵‍💫

@the_mclarke @learning_yohei Americans trying to revise history as usual. Brittish English is used around the world, because Britain colonised most of it. Americans just think anyone using it must be using American English, because they are so self obsessed.

@learning_yohei The key distinction is this: American English is the standard around the world for international business. British English is not.

@learning_yohei Not even close. “American English” often feels like a simplified version of the language, as though precision and tradition have been set aside. It’s somewhat akin to what might happen if informal or colloquial usage were allowed to redefine standard English.

@wholyv Sure, that's why the bulk of code is written in 'C', not C++ 🤦‍♂️

C++ is probably the only language that has revolutionised the entire civilisation. I consider it even more revolutionary than python for very good reasons. If i could choose only one language for the rest of my life, it would be cpp.

@TheOtherFrost You are just misrepresenting the effort it takes to get good results even using AI, because you want to believe AI just 'does it all'. The reality is most people just want the end result - otherwise they could do any of those things themselves, even without AI.

Not to be confrontational, but what is the business plan behind selling genAI drawings, games, movies, music when your customers could ALSO use genAI to make their own?

@JuliaHB1 Idiots like you are the problem. You conflate healthy objection to the disgraceful actions of Israel, to a hate of Judaism - which is intellectual dishonesty at best.

This site is a disgusting cesspit of anti-Jew hate and conspiracy theories today. Absolutely foul. We are living in very dangerous times and if you're not calling antisemitism out, YOU are part of the problem. Staying silent is no longer an option. Speak up! Speak out!

@TheStaad Perform covert/black ops for America providing plausable deniability, aswell as keeping the middle east destabilised for American interests to exploit (e.g by selling arms to everyone there).
