Do you know that men often suffer from "Delayed Grief" because they aren't allowed to crash when the tragedy actually happens? When a death or crisis occurs, the man immediately shifts into "Superman Mode." He is consoling the crying women, being strong for the children and trying not to look weak so he can strengthen people around him. He postpones his own pain to manage the chaos. By the time he is finally ready to grieve, maybe 6 months later, the world has moved on. If he cries then, he is told to "get over it." So he never processes it. he just calcifies.

#Spoilers Dear Destiny portions Tifa: Tifa has loved Cloud all of her life, loves the imperfect but real Cloud, dreams of him, still wishing to be with him. Aerith: Aerith loves Zack, wants a reunion only with him, writes to him constantly, Aerith is a special existence to Zack. Cloud: Wants to be a special existence to Tifa, wanted to join SOLDIER with this goal and their promise in mind. This is in a book titled after Rebirth and released before the third part of the game when both couples will reunite as canon. You can choose to believe Dear Destiny is tied directly to the conclusion of this trilogy or Nojima just wasted hundreds of hours, 300+ pages, and tons of money to tell people about past feelings and events that have no relevance to the upcoming game. Not to mention further contextualizing tons of scenes in Rebirth, especially between Cloud and Aerith. For the second time since he also did this in ToTPs. And remember the conclusion of ToTPs was Aerith and Tifa saying they would discuss their first loves. What was the next book about? Tifa being in love with Cloud, Cloud being in love with Tifa, Aerith being in love with Zack, and Zack being in love with Aerith. #CloTi #Zerith

Some observations and maybe a bit of a mini rant 😂

As a long-term localizer, this might ruffle some feathers, but JRPGs are best when they don't overly court western markets. A half-Japanese half-not RPG leaves no one happy. JP devs should make a good JP game. My job is to make it approachable to the west, not to westernize it.
