AI RANT: I think the most important part when generating code with AI is rebelling against and questioning the code it produces. For example: I prompted Claude to write code for a multi-tenant setup using Better Auth. The idea was to have a registry that checks authentication, stores tenant DB info, and supports features like inviting users to the app. One of the features was pending invites that should be checked when a user registers. No doubt it gave me working code. I had to tweak a few things, but it was mostly vibe-coded. Since it's Sunday, I decided to go through the code carefully to understand how everything works. While reviewing it, I noticed, for pending invites, it assumed the invites would be stored in Redis while also updating the database PendingInvites table at the same time. INSANE. Even though the code technically worked and had the necessary conditional checks, it added 50+ lines of unnecessary logic. And this is just one small piece of the code I reviewed.
