@reluctantnicko Dave Whelan did the same for us tbf, the only thing that does frustrate me compared to the likes of us, Bournemouth, Blackpool etc is all the fawning from the media, purely because they're famous. If say Wrexham Lager owner does same for club/town, hear/read very little

OTD 1992 34 years ago today, a photograph of The Kop just before the kick off of Wrexham's 4th Round FA Cup Replay with West Ham United on a Tuesday evening. Unofficial reports from the time felt that there was over 10,000 fans on the famous terrace that night.

It's really not just that. People had a different emotional involvement in the music when we were coming up. Music was everything. And we were all listening to the same radio stations and having that mass shared experience. It's a fragmented world now with a lot of distractions. A TV commercial can give you that same repetition that puts a song in people's heads, which is the effect that Radio once had. Most people don't own their own music anymore so they're not making any money from the commercials. But it is a legitimate way to keep their music alive. And turn new people onto it.
