Neither of us are city people. We are more small village types. We'd like to be somewhere near water for fishing, forests for exploring, and just a corner of the country that is very quiet, peaceful and traditional. It would even be great to go somewhere where very few people speak English.

The wife has suggested that we should go live in Sweden for 3 months as soon as we are able. It would be quite an adventure. Any cities or towns you all might recommend?

Yes, the United States has the most progressive tax system in the world. The top 1% pay 40% of taxes, the bottom 50% pay 3% of taxes. We can make it even more progressive by zeroing out taxes on the bottom half. It’s a small amount of the total tax revenue but very meaningful to people in this group.

This trend of dunking on northern Euro food is getting tiring. Siberians eat essentially the same things, tons of fish, dairy, meat, grains, etc. It can be delicious and well-made. Food doesn't always need to be loaded with spices to taste good.
