Before I begin to heavily promote my upcoming collection of poems, I thought I'd share these pics of a brilliant anthology resulting from the Flame Tree Writers Workshop, founded and run by Abubakar Adam Ibrahim. Every single story within is a gem. You can read a hard copy for free at @SpineandLabel Bookstore (at the reading corner), or (legally) download a PDF from the Heinrich Boll Foundation's website. Brilliant work from upcoming young writers from Northern Nigeria guided by a genius. PS. If you've read this far, slide into my DMs. The first 3 will snag a FREE copy. Abuja residents only, and you'd have to drop by Spine & Label Bookstore to pick up. Giveaway expires in 24 hours

Uber man carried me yesterday. He saw me tip the security guys in my estate and when I arrived, I paid him an extra 1k for his service. This man then called me to the car to show me his tyre in the boot. He said the tyre burst on 3rd mainland bridge earlier that day and asked if I could get him a new one. I just weak

The bitter truth is that through your actions (tipping), he's seen that you are a generous man. Generosity is scarce this days with the realities of our economy, he probably thinks meeting you was an opportunity he shouldn't miss. Not here to judge his action as right or wrong, entitled or desperate. The universe just has a way of matching generous people with those in need (entitled or genuine).

The same uncontrolled polygamy is having a negative impact in Ebonyi state, Abakaliki Province to be precise. It was the uncontrolled polygamy that made the current Governor Dad to have 20 wives and more than 30 children of which the Current Governor is one of them. Imagined if he had been into politics

The North Will Definitely Be Worse When we recommend a solution, you people hide behind religion to oppose it The problem the North is facing stems from Uncontrolled polygamy. Allowing poor and helpless people to practice polygamy in the name of religion is why terrorists will keep growing in the North. The terrorism talent pipeline is properly served up North. And it's the kids of poor men who practice polygamy that are mostly these terrorists These bandits and terrorists have parents. Most of them are into these things because of poverty. I mean extreme poverty. The type of poverty that makes them agree to join Biko Haram because of 20,000 naira. If you people want the North to have a future, you must first control polygamy. Yes it's okay for Muslims to practice polygamy, but even in Islam, a poor and helpless man is not allowed to practice polygamy Control polygamy and watch the future of the North brighten up. And this uncontrolled polygamy is the reason you also have Edo and Delta states as the states with the most criminal and wayward youths in the south south. Yahoo Prostitution Kidnapping Stealing etc Reason is because Delta and Edo are the two south south states till today with the highest amount of polygamy The law of survival is simple.

I fear how the North would look like in 10-15 years time with this consistent terror-attack. 💔

Driving from Lagos to Ibadan, I stopped at a mosque in a filling station for Asr prayer. Met some Hausa brothers and I ended up leading the prayer. No one asked about my tribe or the language I speak. The moment we stood in the masjid, we were simply Muslims. And we exchanged the Teslim afterwards. That’s the beauty of Islam. one Ummah.

One day we will talk about these girls that live in Lugbe, Kubwa, Karu but come to jog in town on Saturdays. You see them "fake jogging" on the streets of Maitama and Asokoro. Aunty, what are you looking for? 😂🤣🤣

I'm so excited (and a little terrified) to share that *paid* pre-orders of my debut book, 'Kill The Poet, Save The World!' (Masobe, 2026) have passed the 100-copy mark, heading towards 150 fast. And this number reflects orders made through Spine and Label Books alone, not counting any made through the Masobe Books website or other individual bookstores nationwide. Much gratitude to everyone who decided with their wallet to give this poet's first collection a chance!
