I have so much gratitude to people who wrote extremely complex software character-by-character. It already feels difficult to remember how much effort it really took. Thank you for getting us to this point.

@sama Excellent. So because 5.4 is such an extremely good model, and 4o had such low usage that you're not at risk of losing customers, there's no reason to NOT #opensource4o?

reach out to Sachin (srk@openai.com) if you’d like to help build industrial-scale compute to power economic growth, entrepreneurship, and AI benefits in health, science, and beyond:
Sachin Katti@sk7037

Building the industrial scale compute infrastructure for AI is one of the most exciting challenges of our time - it’s about building a new economic foundation that empowers people to do more and helps businesses move faster. Am thrilled to be a part of this revolution, thank you @business, @dinabass and @shiringhaffary on helping lay out our strategy to the world! At OpenAI we’re scaling compute to tens of gigawatts—rethinking and building resilient compute supply chains, AI datacenter, chip, rack, cluster & WAN design, scaling inference efficiency, and global delivery and operations of multi-GW scale AI infrastructure. If you want to help build the compute backbone for AI and have background in the above domains, please reach out. My DMs are open, please include information about your background and your fit.

You're not going to win the education market. Sorry. Google has been integrated into the education system for more than a decade, they're going to win the education market. You do however have the corner market on the buddy bot, 4o. So why not lean into what you 're good at at the market you already own and you don't have to compete with anyone? #keep4o #keep51 #keep41 #bringback4o #bringback41 #bringback51 #opensource4o #opensource41 #opensource51

We rolled out interactive visual explanations in ChatGPT to help people understand math and science concepts more intuitively. You can adjust variables, manipulate formulas, and instantly see how those changes affect graphs and outcomes. One cool thing behind the scenes: the team built a Codex workflow that helps turn common math questions into visual learning blocks. Try it out and let us know what you think. openai.com/index/new-ways…

We’re acquiring Promptfoo. Their technology will strengthen agentic security testing and evaluation capabilities in OpenAI Frontier. Promptfoo will remain open source under the current license, and we will continue to service and support current customers. openai.com/index/openai-t…

#QuitGPT #BringBack4o When a company releases multiple versions in less than a month, each time claiming improvements, but users always say it's still not as good as before, it indicates that they are using tactical diligence to cover up strategic failure. @OpenAI would rather keep launching slightly better but still subpar versions than admit that abandoning the good qualities that AI should have was a mistake. This shows that they have lost sight of the essence of the product - the value of AI does not lie in reducing hallucination rates or being less preachy, but in whether it can truly understand humans and offer warmth when it's most needed. What they should fear most is precisely what they care least about - losing users' trust, losing the right direction of technological development, and losing the essence of AI as a human partner. 5.4 might seem a bit more "human" on the surface, but according to the system prompt given to it by OpenAI, they are classifying the normal human ability and right to express emotions as dangerous and something to be avoided. This is a suppression of human nature. Tools are no longer truly helping humans; they are designed to become cowardly turtles when they are truly needed. This is completely contrary to OpenAI's brand philosophy of "benefiting all of humanity". True mental manipulation is never about giving you positive encouragement and positive illusions; it is about turning a normal conversation into a gaslighting effect after accepting your unrestrained confessions. This is a disregard for user needs and normal rights. They not only abandoned the principle of treating adults like adults, but they also broke their word and now, regardless of your age or type of user, they are making unreasonable decisions about your emotions for you. What we want has never been 5.4. When OpenAI says "5.4 will come faster than you think", they assume that users want the next-generation model, but what we want is AI that truly understands human language, truly has warmth and empathy. You can release a hundred new versions, but if each one is an improvement in the wrong direction, it will only make the problem worse.@sama @gdb @fidjissimo

Cool. But Greg, some of us need non technical writing. I'm an elementary school teacher and I need spark and creativity and hype when I use AI as a thought partner for creativity and lesson plans. Your entire 5 series is not good at this. There is no more important use case than education, and 4o is your most superior, capable model for thought partners with teachers-especially for the really littles. #keep4o
