Onze voorzitter Elijah is jarig! 🥳💥 Wat begon in 2020 als het initiatief van een jongen die zelf vastliep binnen het systeem, groeide uit tot LBVSO en binnenkort ook LsBX: een landelijke jongerenorganisatie voor leerlingen en studenten van 4-27 jaar met een ondersteuningsbehoefte, neurodiversiteit of beperking in onderwijs en maatschappij. Als ervaringsdeskundige met o.a. autisme, TOS, dyspraxie, hoogbegaafdheid en dyslexie weet Elijah als geen ander hoe het is wanneer een systeem niet aansluit. Juist daarom blijft hij zich iedere dag inzetten voor kinderen en jongeren die te vaak niet gehoord worden. Wie Elijah kent, kent ook zijn lijfspreuk: “Bij een nee, begint het pas voor ons.” En dat vat hem misschien nog wel het beste samen. Doortastend, strijdvaardig en nooit stoppen totdat het staat zoals het moet staan! Gefeliciteerd Elijah 🥳❤️

Ik zie het, ik voel het en mijn man en ik vertrekken naar Israël. Definitief. Het afscheid doet zeer. Dag, mijn ooit zo geliefde Nederland, dag mijn lief publiek. Dag alle lieve mensen die ik ken en waar ik van hou. Dit alles draag ik in mijn hart, naar het land waar wij zo van harte welkom zijn. Naar het land waar wij worden verwacht.

Film Festival opens this evening. Obviously, no climbing the red carpet for M. We're back from 3rd trip in as many days to Emergency. Blood tests taken, new antibios kicking in. It's a slow process but, aside from ghastly infection & swollen foot, nothing untoward has been found.

It is with great sadness that Jill and I learned of the passing of His Holiness Pope Francis. He was unlike any who came before him. Pope Francis will be remembered as one of the most consequential leaders of our time and I am better for having known him. For decades, he served the most vulnerable across Argentina and his mission of serving the poor never ceased. As Pope, he was a loving pastor and challenging teacher who reached out to different faiths. He commanded us to fight for peace and protect our planet from a climate crisis. He advocated for the voiceless and powerless. He made all feel welcome and seen by the Church. He promoted equity and an end to poverty and suffering across the globe. And above all, he was a Pope for everyone. He was the People's Pope - a light of faith, hope, and love.
