Another heartbreaking murder in South Africa, this time right next to a police station. 69-year-old Kallie Odendaal was changing a flat tire on Main Reef Road in Springs (just a stone’s throw from Langlaagte Police Station) early Thursday morning when he was ambushed. On the phone with his wife Moira, he begged his attackers to leave him alone, before she heard the gunshot that killed him. He managed to drive to a nearby petrol station, but died in hospital later that morning. Only his cellphone was stolen. This happened yesterday. Turns out the Government of National Unity in South Africa was a fantastic development for the ANC, because some of the strongest opposition leaders allowed themselves to be swallowed by the ANC in exchange for cabinet positions.
