People in Srinagar city have nothing to lose. Wealthy people have nothing to lose as they seek treatment outside anyway. It is a loss for poor patients from outer districts. Attachment and suspension of a very good cardiologist on flimsy ground from the only functioning cathlab at GMC Anantnag is a disservice to the patients and a serious decision against common people in dire need of care.

@JioCare Why don't you read the chat before writing here. I have done everything you mentioned, that too when it was not my fault. Why can't your people do their work well? I have given all my details but received no help so far.

It should be investigated if the 2 retired cardiologists had any conflict of interest in misleading the government and public. A complex issue which only cardiologists were supposed to discuss was presented to medically naive govt officials, news editors and public leading to confusion, chaos and mistrust with essential department. The 2 retired doctors should be stripped naked. It should also be investigated who leaked the said document prematurely to news outlets and public, govt should also be held accountable about its incompetence in comprehending the said issue and trusting the dead wood.
Sahil Parray@iamsahilparray

The so-called technical committee members, who are also doctors( they should face the music of the law) actually they are more dangerous people who deliberately misled the public and tried to ruin Dr Maqbool’s image. Their clear aim seems to have been to destroy a good doctor out of sheer jealousy. Now documents are out showing patients at GMC Anantnag voluntarily paid extra for advanced pacemakers because the cheaper ones were rejected under the scheme. The same media that ran detailed stories attacking the doctor based on that leaked report must now expose these committee members who fed everyone lies. Why the silence? Hold these jealous technical experts accountable for misleading Kashmiris and tarnishing a doctor’s reputation. Enough of this bloody drama.

Yes, I did share it with a long paragraph. I saw the official government document circulating everywhere and got furious and any normal person would react the same way when they see such serious allegations from a technical committee. But the moment clearer facts came out showing the doctor is innocent and that the so-called technical committee members had personal grudges against him, I immediately deleted my tweet. That’s the hardest thing for me to do but I did it. I am now fully supporting Dr. Maqbool. In fact I spoke to him this morning. People make mistakes based on official-looking reports. The real issue is those who leaked/misled with that document in the first place.

@Oncologycorner You deserve to be believed and supported brother because the rationale should take precedence over everything. In this incident, the official statement kind of substantiated the accusation. Who are common people supposed to trust? Official statements, right!

This is EXACTLY WHAT I SAID last time when media was screaming scam. You guys should be sued and bankrupted in court of law that you never put allegation against someone who did nothing wrong. Without any proof. Now i wanna ask questions about the so called “SKIMS” experts.

ANANTNAG GMC PACEMAKER CONTROVERSY" While a Government-ordered investigation is still inconclusive and still in progress in the alleged irregularities in implantation of pacemakers at GMC Hospital Anantnag, facts grossly contrary to what was fed to media last week are now coming to fore. According to the officials holding the investigation, it has been noticed that normally two types of pacemaker implantations are available in the Government and private hospitals: A) Dual Chamber B) LBBAP LBBAP is performed only at super speciality hospitals. The doctor in question is exceptionally competent in LBBAP procedures which he performed on several patients on their demand and request at GMC Hospital Anantnag. However, the concerned government agency (SHA) repeatedly rejected pre-authorization to all cases requiring LBBAP which costs ₹1.70 lakh each case. The agency insisted that under PMJAY-SEHAT only a Dual Chamber procedure, costing upto ₹1 lakh was authorised. Thereupon, some of the patients, including Peer Rafeeq Ahmad, whose son himself is a doctor and who offered to pay the extra amount of ₹70,000 voluntarily over an affidavit directly to the Government supplier under proper receipt on Transaction Management System, LBBAP was conducted on a number of such patients. It was fed to media that Peer Rafeeq was "forced to pay an extra amount of ₹70,000". Now the officials holding the investigation have come across affidavits making clear that those choosing and insisting on LBBAP have paid extra amount of ₹70,000 to the Government supplier out of their own volition and choice and without any coercion. It has become clear that no official, doctor or any other individual has taken any amount of "cut", "commission" or undue benefit. Rather than selectively targetting an intervention cardiologist who didn't get any benefit from performing LBBAP instead of Dual Chamber, media should have been properly enlightened about the administrative lacuna and lapses. It should have questioned the SHA why the PM-guaranteed benefit, available upto ₹5 lakh a common family in J&K, should not be given to LBBAP cases if medically required and advised by cardiologists. It should have raised questions as to who would be responsible if anyone of the patients died whose pre-authorization at GMC Anantnag was outrightly rejected by SHA repeatedly. Rather than feeding the media wrongly and targetting the doctors selectively on questionable grounds, Government should hold a transparent investigation with supervision of a panel of experienced and independent cardiologists, identity and remove all hassles and impediments created by clerks and sections of bureaucracy and extend full benefits to the patients as guaranteed by both, the PM and the CM, separately.
