📅 On this day, 10 years ago, Johan Cruyff sadly passed away. 🥀🇳🇱 Our thoughts are with his friends and family today. 🙏 🗣️ Franz Beckenbauer: “Cruyff was not just a player. He was a philosophy.” 🗣️ Michel Platini: “Before Cruyff there was football. After Cruyff there was a different football.” 🗣️ Marco van Basten: “Cruyff was the greatest football brain the game has ever seen.” 🗣️ Eric Cantona: “Cruyff was the man who changed football forever.” 🗣️ Arrigo Sacchi: “Cruyff changed the way football was played, thought about and understood.” 🗣️ Pep Guardiola: “Cruyff built the cathedral of Barcelona. Our job is simply to maintain it.” RIP to a football legend. ✨🕊️

Paul Clement remembers the day, aged 10, that he woke up to find his family home in a state of chaos and confusion. He could sense “something weird was going on”. He was told he wouldn’t be going to school that day — and then his grandfather told him why. His father, a footballer who had made his England debut six years earlier, had died. The coroner later recorded a verdict of suicide. "Some family friends picked up me and my brother Neil, who was only three, and took us to London Zoo,” says Paul. “I remember going around the zoo in a daze. When you’re young, you don’t really understand it. It’s weird. As you get older, you start to understand it a little bit more.” Fifty years to the day since Dave's England debut, Paul - now Brazil's assistant head coach - recalls the moment his world changed forever. 📝 @OliverKay 🔗 nytimes.com/athletic/71416…

@Victorbastion @Kasquez4 We would love to have a debate with the GFA in public. It would be healthy and sensible. @GBCNewsroom @RosAstengo can you make it happen?

@KaelanJoyce @GBCNewsroom @YourGibraltarTV @GibChronicle And yet you continue to post on X your opposition to this bad deal

One of the greatest to ever do it. 🧡 Ruud Gullit on the magic of Marco van Basten! 🔥

It was a tale of two cities and two very different football grounds for an @FCBarcelona fan who turned up at the wrong St James Park last night 🏟️ The Spanish supporter, who made the journey to Devon from London, turned up at the turnstiles of Exeter City’s Adam Stansfield stand last night, expecting to see his team take on @NUFC. It was only when he showed his ticket to staff that he realised his mistake. But he got to see a got to see a game of football – Exeter City staff sorted him out a ticket for the game against Lincoln under the lights of the real St James Park! Adam Spencer, Supporter Experience Officer at Exeter City, said: “One of our volunteers came to the office to let us know that this guy had turned up expecting to see FC Barcelona. His English wasn’t great, but from what we could gather, he’d come from London. My guess is he’d put St James Park in his phone and then just followed the directions from there. “He was pretty gutted and a bit embarrassed. So, we sorted him out a ticket and he got to watch a game at the real St James Park. He’d be welcome back any time.” #ECFC #SemperFidelis
