Something about boxing refs doesn't sit well with me, and hasn't for a long time now. Mark Lyson tonight being a prime example, it's almost like they feel it's their job to stop a knock out. Rico ate shots at the end, but was still moving, and still throwing. Stay out of it!!!

You’re telling me the same sport that allowed Tyson Fury to get up from THIS in the 12th round against Wilder just stopped the Oleksandr Usyk vs Rico Verhoeven fight with less than a second left in Round 11 with Rico not even wobbled… …in a fight Usyk was likely losing. A massive underdog. A career kickboxer with essentially no boxing resume against arguably the greatest heavyweight boxer of this era. On the verge of one of the greatest upsets the sport has seen. Horrible stoppage. This stoppage should be talked about for a long time. Unfortunately, it probably won’t be. Boxing being boxing.

Tyson Fury was in much more trouble than Rico Verhoeven was against Usyk. Yet Rico Verhoeven was not given anywhere near the same courtesy or benefit Fury was given. Fury was Knocked around the Ring stumbling across the Ropes and the Referee still didn’t stop the Fight 🧐
