Totally forgot that Uber/Lyft drivers in SF never talk or play music. I’ve gotten so used to SD drivers who tell everyone their life story (like me, lol).

@nhanson_reports Yuuuup. I worked at the jewelry store and drove Uber part time when I was reporter in Oakland. I was so burnt out from trying to make ends meet.

In local news, I’ve known many people who worked side jobs they worried their newsrooms would discover. I still see job postings offering less than what you may earn in food service/grocery stores-but it does mean working class folks are less able to work in journalism, period:/

Anyway, if you’re in a mental health rut and you feel like shit won’t get better, I promise it will if you do the work. Go to therapy, move your body, cut out toxic people/things, and prioritize yourself. Move on from whatever doesn’t serve you. You got this.😘

A week ago, I started a new job as a marketing manager & yoga teacher training on the same day. 💪🏼The day before that, I literally sat on a plane for 16 hours. A year ago, I was too anxious to do any of those things. It’s amazing what you can do when you believe in yourself.✨

The epitome of doom scrolling is checking to see which of my favorite reporters lost their jobs today. We take local news for granted. It’s disappearing before our eyes. Really sad, disturbing day for all of Los Angeles.

This is a long shot, but here we go…I need a rescue or foster for a kitten we found in Panglao, Philippines. We found her alone (waited an entire day to see if the mother would show up), and she is very skinny. She also has a pretty severe upper respiratory infection 🧵

I’ve been off the radar for a bit. My mom and dad were hit by a car on their morning walk on the Monday before Thanksgiving. God has brought them safely home from the hospital but there is a long road ahead for them. Give your loved ones an extra hug tonight. Life is precious.
