Today @PaulaJaneB & I met Brian, a Dublin Rd pharmacist, about rising pressures - medicine shortages, costs, & supporting vulnerable patients. Pharmacies are frontline services under real strain. We’ll work with colleagues and lobby the Minister for urgent support.

@BBCMarkSimpson @PBNINews @CaoimhinOSF Probation service of my favourite organisations to work with when I was Lord Mayor. Those involved & especially exiting the justice system some of the most marginalised in society - well done for shining a light.

Young offenders doing community service. A 'soft option' compared to going to prison❓ I talked to @PBNINews @CaoimhinOSF & others in Belfast.

I promised victims and families that I would strengthen sentencing for serious offences. With their help and support, I’ve now introduced the Sentencing Bill. This legislation is another step towards my aim of making the criminal justice system fairer and our communities safer.

Best friends 😆 I first met @AndyBurnhamGM at COP26 years ago & he’s been a brilliant friend to NI & champion for the North of England. I love his collaborative, positive way of doing politics. Real change happens when we work together. Great to have him at our conference 💛

‼️ RAISING YOUR CONCERNS ON HOME HEATING OIL & COST OF LIVING DIRECTLY WITH THE PRIME MINISTER ‼️ I met the Prime Minister this morning along with the Alliance Leadership team to raise directly the energy crisis and how we need to see urgent action now from Treasury & NI Economy Minister working together. People need support now. We also raised the Local Growth Fund and the disgraceful decision by the UKG not to change the funding formula for Charities & Voluntary Group funding. If I get the chance to raise your issues for Lagan Valley I will absolutely do so!

Met with the @ConsumerCouncil today on rising home heating oil costs in NI - an issue @allianceparty is prioritising. Key advice: don’t panic buy, shop around, agree price & delivery upfront & use their Oil Price Checker. More advice on their website: consumercouncil.org.uk

Happy International Women’s Day! Today, we’re reflecting on all the women in Alliance, especially those who came before us and made it easier to be a woman in politics. Let’s support and celebrate one another so we can help pave the way for future generations.  -@KateNicholl

Books ARE amazing! Happy world book day* 📚 *especially to the parents who thought they’d negotiated child wearing a book themed tshirt to school - only to discover child thought they were getting a tshirt AND a costume too, so had to spend all night making costume 😭

No polluter should be let off the hook for polluting our rivers, lakes and loughs.  Alliance Minister @AndrewMuirNI is taking action: 💧 Ending NI Water's by-ball to pump raw sewage into our waterways 💧 Increasing water pollution fines 💧 Introducing fixed penalty notices

At the @UNISONNI campaign launch for respect & recognition for the classroom assistant workforce - ALL children must have the support they need to access their right to an education & reach their full potential, that can’t be achieved without classroom assistants!

I met with the Principal of Rosetta Primary School earlier regarding their school hall. 9yrs of damage, 2yrs of closure is impacting them in so many ways. @PaulaJaneB & myself will put what pressure we can on the EA - I’m sure all South Belfast reps will be doing the same.

"It's been a communications disaster" by the education officials says @NickDMathison on changing one-to-one support. Experts say it isn't necessarily the best way to achieve the best outcome for children

Horrifying reports of AI-generated abuse targeting disabled people show why we must act now on regulation. Platforms aren’t doing enough & unchecked tech is amplifying harm. I’m pushing an amendment to the Justice Bill to ban nudification apps ⬇️ 🔗 allianceparty.org/horrifying_rep…

Stop-start government means shortened mandates, less time for ministers to advance legislation, and limits on our ability to deliver essential change. Institutional reform is a necessity, but in the meantime, we must move forward with what we do agree on. @KateNicholl.
