This happened at the Agona Amenfi Chief’s Palace in the Western Region when police shot and disarmed an armed traditional royal during a tense standoff. The suspect, reportedly wielding a cutlass and wearing traditional charms, allegedly attacked a palace messenger during preparations for a sod-cutting ceremony for a new maternity ward. Police reportedly attempted to arrest him peacefully, but after he refused to surrender and tensions escalated, officers shot him in the hand before overpowering and arresting him.
