@cab1998 And the first photo in your earlier post is a Canada Goose, not a Red-tailed Hawk. There’s a reddish leaf that could have been mistaken as a red tail
English

@cab1998 Yes, I mistook the second photo in your earlier post for a Canada Goose - I’d assumed it was upside down. Then I looked closer and realized there weren’t any feet! Oops. Definitely a gull, not a Red-tailed Hawk!
English

@DCCityWildlife Poor guy! Either way, good thing he wound up with you!
English

@KatieFigs But we can't rule out other possibilities like getting stuck somewhere and having to sort of back out pushing dirt into his shell. One of the tough things about rehab is we often never get definitive answers on what happened to a patient before they came to us!
English

This #EasternBoxTurtle came to us in late August, presenting with some peculiar problems. Namely, a whopping 60 grams of dirt lodged in the backside of his shell! 😦

@guttenbirder22 I tried finding you on Bluesky, and you aren’t appearing in the search. This happened to me once before, so maybe it’s just a temporary thing, but just confirming you already created an account there?
English

@lotuswinnielee I’d report the gull to dbird.org - if there are lots of dead birds washing up, it would be good to track this
English

@MKuori3 @BalliettBrad Do it!! It’s so much more pleasant over there! There are a few things to get used to, but the feeds are so much more attuned to what I want to see, and there aren’t any disturbing ads that I’m forced to scroll past over there!!
English

@MKuori3 @BalliettBrad I was about to ask the same thing!! I might be @BalliettBrad’s biggest fan, but I don’t want to spend any more time on Twitter. I will really miss these amazing videos, though 😭
English

@Alexander_Lees How is that allowed - doesn’t the MBTA prevent people from keeping them as pets?
English

Just a reminder that Scarlet Tanager is legally kept and bred by aviculturists in the UK - along with just about everything you could possibly imagine from Middle Spotted Woodpecker to Barred Warbler and Slender-billed Gull #UKBirding

English

@carolcoxphotos Adorable! Such a great capture! (Btw, I’m pretty sure that’s a Palm Warbler - one of my favorites!! I love how they pump their tails!)
English

@lotuswinnielee @GreenWoodHF Looking remarkably svelte here. They are usually superborbs! 🤎🤎🤎

Winter Wren, my Chocolate Wren, on stage, posing for his portrait @GreenWoodHF 💚💚 A real cutie!! #winterwren #chocolatewren #wrens #birdwatching #wildlife

English

@Norma262626 @wildbirdfund Luckily, this was a pretty mild case of stringfoot! He was caught before it progressed and did more damage to the feet
English

@wildbirdfund @KatieFigs Very pretty. And those feet are looking good!
English

Oh hiiii. Here’s a pigeon.
This cutie spent just 24 hours in our care. He was picked up for a stringer foot — a very unfortunate condition that occurs when pigeons get string, hair or wire wrapped around their toes.

@HudValleyYogini @EODHappyCaptain @AndrewNovotak I believe you can recycle these at Best Buys: bestbuy.com/site/services/…
English

@EODHappyCaptain @AndrewNovotak There is no way to recycle any of it? What a shame.
English

@alexcritelli1 He doesn’t look well… his eye is kind of squinty and it’s not cold enough for him to be puffed up like that 😢
