@KatieOWrites I know it's too late for the race and sounds like it went great, but for the winter, I take my older pair of running shoes that I can afford to throw out in a few months and poke little studs in them! cross country spikes work well.

Thanks for y’all’s help! Race went really well—I ran in hiking boots for the first time (gore-Tex I es from Hoka), which worked out super well. And an old man who lives at the top of a mtn on the course came out w his dog and gave me a whiskey shot. And snow mostly melted…
