Looking for a gluten-free friendly restaurant in Sacramento open on Thanksgiving at 8a.
So I just tried #perplexityai for the first time - enticed by the promise of the chat interface paired with real-time search results.
It shows me restaurants in Seattle.
What did i miss?

I have 3k there vs 99 bots and maybe 5 humans here, so yes, the stakes here are much lower 🙃

@ZainAK_ nicely put. I read once about how much the price we pay influences the enjoyment of the product/ service. An okay pizza hits differently if you pay $30 for it vs if you scavenge it out somewhere for free. Well done for being to most delicious free pizza for your 1st 2 clients👏

Unpopular opinion:
You should work for free...
...If you're just getting started on a new service.
My first client for my $1M+ / year agency paid me $0.
My second paid me $0...but my third...
My third paid me: $2,000 / Month
Client #1 referred me.
Client #2 gave me a glowing testimonial.
Then they both became $500k+ worth of income over the next 3 years.
Working for free like this is a superpower if done right.
Why?
My first two clients were practice. I was bad.
I didn't have all the skills.
I didn't know how to handle communication well.
But because it was free, they forgave. I improved.
My first two clients were HUGE brands. I was 22.
I didn't have a portfolio or track record.
They took a chance because their downside was 0.
My upside was infinite.
My first two clients became 2 of my biggest clients.
They saw me grow and put in the sweat.
They were rooting for me.
So, work for free. Not forever. But to...

• Build a portfolio
• Build a foundation

I was happy i could help my neighbor in a pinch and buy milk for her kid when they ran out.
It made ME like her & her child more because I was actively enrolled in providing for them.
By asking for help, my neighbor made me day. #justask

@VinodSharma10x 100% Agree. All early startup effort should go into validating the idea. Or rather FINDING an idea which can be validated.
But there's a trap - gosh, it feels GOOD to be building. You see the progress everyday, it's all coming together. 😅speaking from experience 😅
