@ShamikaRavi In order to 'think' or 'feel' inequality, you don't necessarily need a graph (yes, quantitative researchers love this) but eyes and a functional brain is enough to see and feel the inequality.

Wow. This looks like an amazing project. Scholars at UMichigan have recently collected a massive dataset of over 1.1M podcast transcripts that is largely comprehensive of all English language podcasts. Using this data, they conduct an investigation into the content, structure, and responsiveness of the podcast ecosystem. Check it out!

In this new piece, we explain the "Virchow’s philosophy", which undoubtedly galvanised thinking across the disciplines, emphasises how political–economic ideologies and income inequality shape the distribution of health and social problems. @ShalemBalla1 econstor.eu/handle/10419/3…

Climate security = Food security! 🌍 COP30 calls to connect climate action to real lives—starting with our children. Evidence shows that climate vulnerability limits families’ ability to provide diverse diets → poor child nutrition. Read more in the new study by IIPS, RPCAU-PUSA and UNICEF Let’s join hands for climate-smart nutrition policies to protect the most vulnerable—our children @IIPSMumbai @Rpcau_pusa @doctorsoumya @SrinivasGoli1 @PusaUsha @KaustavC9 @a_bheemeshwar @Antaryami_Dash @Richasinghpand2 #ClimateNutrition #SDG2 #SDG13 Link to the report: knowledge.unicef.org/india/resource…

Major study by @mssrf uncovering how environmental stressors like heat intensify existing gender inequalities in health! Glad to be a part of the project. Thank you @doctorsoumya for the opportunity. Repost for wider reach. More findings will come soon. #climatechange

𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭’𝐬 𝐇𝐢𝐝𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐁𝐮𝐫𝐝𝐞𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧: 𝐌𝐒𝐒𝐑𝐅 𝐒𝐭𝐮𝐝𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐒𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐬 India’s heatwaves have grown longer and more intense, causing heat-related deaths to rise by 34% between 2013 and 2022. But the gendered impact of this heat stress is often overlooked. 𝐊𝐞𝐲 𝐟𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐟𝐫𝐨𝐦 𝐨𝐮𝐫 𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭 ‘𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐈𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐜𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐭 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐇𝐞𝐚𝐥𝐭𝐡 𝐨𝐟 𝐖𝐨𝐦𝐞𝐧 𝐢𝐧 𝐈𝐧𝐝𝐢𝐚’ 𝐡𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐥𝐢𝐠𝐡𝐭: • 70% of women reported symptoms like fatigue, dizziness, and dehydration during heat months • 97% of women reported wage losses exceeding ₹1,500 during peak summer • 72% of women in high Heat Vulnerability Index (HVI) districts reported higher household violence These numbers reveal how heat intensifies existing gender and health inequalities, while our health systems remain under-equipped and heat policies lack effective implementation strategies. The report uncovers the hidden links between environmental stress, gendered labour burdens, and health risks—and lays out an actionable roadmap for policy reform. Extended, extreme heat spells pose a severe threat to women’s health - @ramyakannan features @mssrf study @the_hindu. Not only do health systems need to prepare, action is needed across labour, urban planning, social welfare & rural development depts. Climate Adaptation is urgent
