Uttam is a classic case of a headless chicken running like a vagabond in al directions. Without sense. Without purpose. He sees beauty in cows being slaughtered in the streets across Kolkata, more a show of strength then an actual religious act. His fellow brethren fled and continue to flee Bangladesh owing to Hindu persecution yet he sees joys in Muslim “humanity” and finds Hindu festivites noisy and boisterous. I can chalenge that Uttam lives in a gated society away from his Muslim friends instead of living in Zakir Nagar or Tughlaqabad or similar places. Uttam is a pest. He spreads lies like pests spread diseases.

The Namaz congregations on Eid everywhere were dignified, sober and cute. Devotees dressed in white and with their heads covered, little children decked up for the occasion and people greeting each other by embracing each other. It would take place early in the morning and disperse quickly. By 10 pm there would be no trace of the crowd because they had to go home, visit friends, feed the poor. Contrast this with the boisterous and noisy devotees of 'some other faith' (if I write Hindu, trolls would start abusing, I guess--which is again something that is unique along with DJs, dancing like every devotee is Govinda or brandishing swords, spears, tridents--like in Ram Navami. I am not a believer but I do pray. Everywhere. In a church, outside a temple, while driving past a mosque or a mazaar or a synagogue. I like the temples in South India, which are more serene and peaceful. And my prayers to the good lord is always the same. May the almighty ensure peace and prosperity for everyone. My faith is often shaken by seeing the poverty and suffering all around me and every time I visit a public hospital or a bazaar in India. But I draw inspiration from both Muslims and Sikhs, who do not discriminate, who do not hate, who help the poor. A visit to a Gurudwara, a church and a mosque is never a frightening experience. Just the opposite. This year on Bakr-i-Eid I pray for good sense and respect for fellow human beings to prevail. Eid Mubarak, friends #BakriEid2026

For the first time since 1978, namaz was not offered on roads anywhere in West Bengal.

I have an entirely different story to tell. More often than tlnot elderly tourists, especially Tamils have always walked up to me and my wife once they see the bangles and the thread, they are almost always reassured. Their main worry is always about meat. Glad that I have always been able to help my fellow Indians. Assuming this story is true, too many Pakistani scammers going around and travel advisors always scare Indian tourists hence they might have shooed him away.
www.sidin.co@sidin

Sad Indian tourism story. Once saw a family struggling to navigate trams in Geneva. I went to help and politely spoke in Hindi and they were like: "GO AWAY WE DON'T NEED ANYTHING PLEASE GO AWAY" And then a Swiss fellow came and they asked for help. Cry.

If Audrey is explicitly brandishing the 1984 Unhinging Śiva paper to claim that objective science has permanently disconnected the Pashupati seal from any indigenous Indian/Shaivite continuity, she is relying on her audience not knowing the massive logical self-goals & internal biases built directly into Srinivasan's 1984 text. What Truschke will never tell about the 1984 paper is that despite trying her best to "unhinge" Shiva, Srinivasan is physically forced to concede the uniquely Indian, meditative nature of the posture. In the text, Srinivasan explicitly writes: "It may therefore be inferred that the 'yoga' posture is emblematic of divinity..." Think about the massive corner she paints herself into. She admits that the figure is sitting in a distinct, ritualistic, joint-locking yogic position & she admits this posture indicates divinity. Yet, she & Truschke try to frame the seal as a generic/secular/entirely foreign "Eurasian Lord of Animals." No Eurasian/Elamite "Lord of Animals" across the entire ancient world, from the steppes of Russia to the deserts of Iran is ever depicted performing a complex, multi-joint-locking yogic asana. By admitting the posture is yogic, Srinivasan’s own 1984 paper inadvertently proves that the seal represents an indigenous, highly advanced South Asian spiritual tradition that predates Western contact. Because of the "Break the Continuity" doctrine. If they admit that Seal 420 represents an early, ancestral form of yogic/Shaivite divinity, they are forced to admit that Hinduism has an unbroken, indigenous civilizational continuity stretching back 1000s of yrs on the Indian subcontinent. To prevent that admission, they weaponize 40 yr old papers, play semantic games with the definitions of "wild vs. domestic animals" & try to convince the public that a figure practicing yoga in a subcontinent jungle is somehow a foreign import from Iran. Using the very text of her 1984 paper shows they are twisting the data to fit a predetermined ideological narrative.

Both Paranjoy as well as Richa speak their mind, to only blabber nonsense. Paranjoy enjoys world travel and lives in tbe best of places, probably enjoying them cheap cutlets and drinks in Gymkhana while “feeling” sad for the homeless and the have nots. Classis left story told for ages. We wll know how Medha Patkar, one of their jhola wala gangs woukd always travel to London in business class, sipping on the nice French wines, while saree clad and wearing slippers. All of them chameleons.
ParanjoyGuhaThakurta@paranjoygt

Well spoken Richa. There are few like you in Bollywood who have the guts to speak their mind.

Proto-Elamite? The Pashupati seal has an elephant, a water buffalo and a rhinoceros. Ancient Elam was centred in southwestern Iran. Elephants, water buffalos and rhinoceroses are not native to ancient Elam. BTW, they are native to India. Also, the figure is seated in a Yogic posture. Is Yoga also Elamite now? Seriously? Your profile says you are a professor. I don't mean to sound rude, but your students deserve a refund. And seriously, Western universities need to improve their hiring practices.
Audrey Truschke@AudreyTruschke

This isn't Shiva. It's more likely adapted from proto-Elamite iconography, showing an Eurasian deity "lord of animals." Indian history is amazing, wonderful, and fantastic -- It's well worth getting it right.

One of the most powerful symbols of India’s unbroken civilizational continuity! Discovered at Mohenjo-daro in undivided India this steatite seal, about 4,300-year-old, shows a seated figure in yogic posture (widely seen as Shiva-Pashupati) seated in Mulabandhasana, surrounded by animals. While ancient sites may lie across modern borders, India remains the living custodian of this heritage. The yogic posture, Shaivite symbolism, and spiritual ethos seen in the Pashupati Seal continue to thrive in India’s temples, daily worship of Shiva, yogic traditions, and cultural life even today. From the Vedic period to contemporary Bharat, this civilizational thread has remained alive and unbroken — deeply embedded in our philosophy, rituals, and collective consciousness.🇮🇳 #PashupatiSeal #IndusSaraswatiCivilization #LivingIndianHeritage

The narrative is just a BJP dantasy, nothing more. DKS accepted Deputy CM-ship in 2023 on one explicit condition that he would get CM rotation. That deal was struck, documented and honoured. This is not a coup. Siddu and his supporters in High Command may not like it but DKS would have walked away if the cintract was not fulfilled. The Deputy CMs demand from Sonia-Priyanka camp is a standard Congress coalition management. DKS needs to be checked because a Karnataka CM with full control of money, MLAs and machinery is a state-level power centre that historically becomes ungovernable for Delhi. Every Congress high command has known this this Devegowda’s time. The real Easter egg here: DKS becoming CM is actually a smart move. A Vokkaliga CM in Karnataka before 2029 LS elections is smart arithmetic. Vokkaligas were drifting to JDS-BJP. DKS brings them back. And with DKS running the show till next elections, BJP will find it tough to win.
BhikuMhatre@MumbaichaDon

Big Setback to Sonia Ghandy & Priyanka Vadra? Rahul Ghandy scores Big win over both! Siddaramaiah to resign today noon. DKS reportedly to be next CM. Oath likely on Saturday. But it's not over yet😂 -Siddaramaiah to leave for Delhi tonight. -Sonia & Priyanka to make sure that Rahul Ghandy's choice DKS to not get free hand. Pressing for atleast 2-3 Dy CMs. -Siddaramaiah not keen on going to Rajya Sabha. That's real bad news for DKS. -Karnataka State Federation of Backward Class Communities has warned CONgress and its high command that the party will face consequences if Siddaramaiah is replaced. -Lingayats too annoyed with DKS as CM as he represents other dominant caste Vokkaliga. Only positive sign for CONgress is that BJP State Unit is too fragmented to take advantage of the situation AS OF NOW. What happens tomorrow.... nobody knows.

Saba Naqvi has written four books and still cannot distinguish between an Indian Muslim citizen and an illegal Bangladeshi infiltrator. Deliberately. The facts she buried: :15.53 lakh dead voters found on Bengal’s rolls. :TMC officials caught adding fraudulent names. Suspended. FIRs ordered by Election Commission directly. :Supreme Court itself oversaw the SIR process. :Same SIR conducted across 12 states. 5.2 crore entries removed nationally. Not a Bengal-Muslim operation. A national electoral hygiene exercise. :Amit Shah’a statement on record in Parliament: “The purpose of SIR is not to target any community. Infiltrators cannot decide who will be Prime Minister.” Her method is simple. Conflate illegal immigrant with Indian Muslim. Then make any enforcement of immigration law appear as communal persecution. Repeat. TMC just lost Bengal. It has no army left. So they resort to propaganda through Saba Naqvi. Frontline as always is the media of choice.

NDTV anchor should have asked one simple question? Why is it that ED scares AAP politicians? Does it mean that everyone involved with AAP is corrupted and hence scared? Unfortunately AAP has set a washing machine narrative which the media is not contesting for reasons best known to them.

@SaarasGlobal 50 km range for a 1.15 lakh scooter makes zero sense. You may have to rework the maths else the product will not have market acceptance. There are many electric scooters offering similar or better range at half the price.
