I just went down a deep rabbit hole on the latest in AI filmmaking and wow, I’m really blown away by what everybody is doing. I’m so focused on the “fine art” world of cinematic AI that I was not as on top of the “Hollywood/LA” world of cinematic AI. A few notables. One is Gossip Goblin. They were the only AI filmmaker mentioned in the Hollywood Reporter’s top AI list and they just released a new 20 minute film yesterday and it is really good. x.com/Gossip_Goblin/… @Gossip_Goblin has one of the strongest aesthetic worlds/vocabulary of anyone I’ve seen doing cinematic AI work. Two is @Kavanthekid. He worked with @magnific (formerly Freepik) to create a new series called “The Chronicles of Bone” and recently released the first episode and it is also really good. x.com/Kavanthekid/st… I first noticed Kavan when he did Echo Hunter and I personally think Kavan has a great sense of storytelling and pacing. I think he edits his own films and if so I believe he is one of the best AI film editors out there. I do think there is a specific skill to do AI film editing well versus normal film editing. Third, I’m really enjoying @PJaccetturo’s BTS workflow X threads, like he did for Gossip Goblin’s new film. x.com/PJaccetturo/st… I think PJ does a great job showing how it’s not just a prompt then movie, but there is a lot that goes into making good AI films and it is a blend of traditional techniques and new ones. I imagine there are more projects in the works and we’ll be seeing them launch soon. It does feel like the beginning of a lot of great long-form AI content being produced beyond just the short videos on social media. Plus it does seem like more of Hollywood is coming to terms with AI, though the controversy is still very hot. Huge respect for what these folks are doing, as well as many others. Very inspiring!

It's because I made Chronicles of Bone (my title), a story I wrote taking public domain characters, sticking them into a singular universe in a re-imaging and giving them new stories, and several other accounts have copied this idea I had and my scripts...but thanks for checking it out.

I open up YouTube today and see the AI series “The Chronicles of Bone” AND almost right next to it, another AI series with essentially the exact same characters called “The Chronicles of Bone and Blood” One show is better made than the other, but both rely entirely on just arranging and staging someone else’s main characters for infinity until exhausted. Everything appears to be happening constantly…but nothing fundamentally resolves. This is like an AI enabled perversion of “Waiting for Godot” Which is really weird because @brianjamesgage produced some work with the same types of ingredients, had real stories, and got demonized.
