Despicable. As families grieve, Trump should be leading, not lying. We put safety first, drove down close calls, grew Air Traffic Control, and had zero commercial airline crash fatalities out of millions of flights on our watch. President Trump now oversees the military and the FAA. One of his first acts was to fire and suspend some of the key personnel who helped keep our skies safe. Time for the President to show actual leadership and explain what he will do to prevent this from happening again.

Someone made a comment to me yesterday, describing how the Democratic Party were the racists during the Jim Crow era - and it's true, history proves that - but we're no longer living in the Jim Crow era. So, let me draw your attention to more RECENT history and how the @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP have all but stripped Black Americans of their rights. Back in 2022, the Texas Republican Party convention urged repealing the Voting Rights Act of 1965. You know, the very Act that gave Black Americans the right to vote without all the discriminatory practices. Texas Republicans wanted to repeal the very Act that outlawed literacy tests, poll taxing, the "white only primaries" as a prerequisite to voting. In 2023, Republicans began to echo Governor Ron DeSantis' comment that "slaves benefited from slavery." In February 2024, Donald Trump tried conveying that Black Americans support him bcos they can "relate" to crime and prosecution. Let's not forget the @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP attacks on Diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI). There are currently more than 30 bills across the country targeting DEI funding, practices, and promotion at schools. As of March 27, nine have been signed into law by a governor: two in Florida, one in each of the Dakotas, one in Tennessee, one in Texas, one in Utah, one in Alabama, and most recently one in Idaho. Republicans have disguised these attacks against DEI as fighting "discrimination" in schools, but what these Republicans DON'T tell you is that the bills they have passed ARE DISCRIMINATORY. Some of their anti-DEI laws: — prohibit the state's public colleges and universities from promoting, sponsoring, or maintaining DEI offices and programs. It will additionally prohibit public institutions from affirming certain "divisive concepts" relating to race, sex, or religion - as introduced in Senate Bill 129 in Alabama. — Arkansas' Senate Bill 71 would PROHIBIT state and local government agencies, including public universities, FROM USING affirmative action programs; which means race, sex, color, ethnicity, or national origin could no longer be considered in state employment, public education, and procurement. — Senate Bill 16 in Texas passed on April 12, 2023, which would ban critical race theory teaching at the university level. Just to name a few. But, it isn't hard to see, not only are the @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP trying to erase black history, they're trying to erase black diversity, equity, and inclusion starting from their ability to advance in education, and essentially, throughout life. In a survey conducted by the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University, 52% of Trump supporters view black people as “less evolved.” Let's not forget, Republicans in Congress not only voted for Donald Trump, they defend him, condone him, and mimic him. If that's not enough, consider this.... While trying to reverse Joe Biden’s victory in 2020, Donald Trump and his @GOP @HouseGOP @SenateGOP allies targeted heavily Black cities, painting them as corrupt and trying to throw out huge numbers of votes. In Pennsylvania, Trump and Republican loyalist sought to overturn his defeat by making false claims about widespread voting fraud in Philadelphia. In Georgia, they sought to reverse Trump's loss by leveling similar accusations against Atlanta. In Michigan, the Trump and Republicans zeroed in on Detroit, whose elections system Trump falsely claimed was so flawed that its entire vote should be thrown out. Lost on no one in those cities is what they have in common: large populations of Black American voters. So go ahead, tell the American people about Jim Crow laws and the Democratic Party's PAST, but everything I mentioned here, is RECENT history.
