I passed a few TopStep evaluation accounts last week. It's time I take it seriously now, and therefore I'm going to document everything: → Daily trade breakdowns → What almost blew the evaluation → Every payout when it comes → What doesn't work — not just what does. No highlights reel. No course to sell. Just the real journey. Day 1 starts on Monday.

Missed my entry at 9:35AM closure. I hesitated calculating risk on the candle width. Chased higher instead of waiting. Got stopped out multiple times. Watched $MNQ hit my 3:1 target anyway. The setup was never the problem. Note to self: If the plan is valid — pull the trigger. Slow execution and chasing are two different ways to lose the same trade. On to the next.

Took a winner at the open yesterday on evals. Should have walked away. Didn't. Took another trade on the funded account. Hit my personal MLL. Reviewed it after — Direction was right, entry was wrong. Chased price. paid for it. Knowing when you've won for the day is a skill I'm still developing.

Day 6: ✅+1936 @Topstep Trading feels hard when you’re trying to predict. Trading gets easier when you’re simply reading what’s in front of you. Today’s price action was clean. The market did most of the work. #FuturesTrading #NQ

Question for anyone on a @TopStep 50K funded account — What balance did you build to before making your first withdrawal? Trying to work out the optimised balance that doesn't leave you exposed to the MLL. Feel like withdrawing too early compresses your buffer to almost nothing.

No trades for me today. I waited for my A+ setup, but it never fully formed. Most traders think getting paid is the goal. The real goal is protecting your capital until the right opportunity shows up. No setup = no trade. Patience is a position too. See you tomorrow.

@cantucapital Understand what put you in this situation is more important than trying to save the account. If you can pin point the reason, you'll end up in this position again.

with only a few hundred dollars of drawdown left in my funded accounts, I'm starting to feel like they can't be saved. I know it's unhealthy pessimism. how should I approach this? I'm thinking 1:1 RR trades (1 micro) in low volume sessions to try to claw them back to life. anyone out there ever recover accounts that were on the verge of death?

VAL BREAKDOWN SHORT — 25 June 2026 $MNQ - 1 Win 🎯 Taken from my funded accounts. Clean win at the open. Session done by 9:40AM. The setup: - Opened inside Value Area — broke VAL immediately - HTF bias bearish, low conviction, but enough. - 32% probability VAL retest then expansion lower - Thursday historical range 296 points, 100% bearish direction (5 sample caveat) The execution: - Scaled into 3 contracts at $30,038.17 average - Took partials at $29,961 and $29,920.75 - Average exit $29,934.17 - 103 points captured across 3 contracts Low conviction bias. High expectancy setup. Let the stats do the thinking.

@AdamWTrades Would you walk away after a 1:1 win or go for more setups?

Just backtested all of this month's trades. If I include today's trades, taking 1R and holding for my full target end up almost identical. The difference? The higher RR approach requires me to be nearly perfect with holding winners and picking targets. 1R is much easier to execute consistently. Starting to wonder if I've been making trading harder than it needs to be.

A lot of you say you want to be traders but you don’t really You have to put in 1,000s of hours if you want to make it For my first 2 years of trading I was working 10 hours a day Live trading, watching mentors videos, going through my data, journalling, backtesting I was backtesting for 6 hours a day alone •1.5 hours on trend reading •1.5 hours on trend continuation setups •1.5 hours on trend reversals •1.5 hours on curve over-bought, over-sold Most of you are putting in 1-2 hours a day and leaving it at that - yet you still expect to become a millionaire in your first few years of trading Put in the hours bro, there’s no way around it

OVN LOD + PDL confluence rejection. Missed trade — 24 June 2026 $MNQ Textbook reversal and I wasn't there for it. What the tape showed: - Aggressive sellers pushed below PDL - Failed to hold — buyers absorbed the move - Next candle engulfed completely — strong buying intent - CISD formed for ICT traders watching that level - Clean 2:1 on offer with TP at $29,836 Why I didn't take it: Already had a winner off the open and called it a session (walked away from PC). No regrets on the decision — protecting a good day matters. But logging it because the setup was valid and I want the data.

If your mentor is taking trades in this price action saying they know where it will go unfollow them immediately because they are teaching you terrible habits

The trade was never the problem. Breaking your own rule was. Take one loss, then another, and suddenly the setup that didn't look good enough ten minutes ago looks perfect. You size up. You ignore the plan. And the damage from that one trade ends up bigger than every loss before it. Discipline is easy after a winning streak. The real test starts after three losses in a row when the biggest threat isn't the market. It's you.

VAL Breakthrough + VWAP/POC Retest + Bearish Expansion. 24th June 2026. 930 open pump on $MNQ looked like a breakout. Wasn't buying it. HTF bias was bearish going in — that initial move was suspect from the start. Trade Analysis 📈 - Price pumped into VWAP/POC zone - No body closure above POC — wicks only, passive sellers holding - My stats show 67% rejection rate at this confluence — waited for confirmation - Entry: $21,282 / averaged at $21,377 - Stop: $21,414 — above trapped buyers - Target: 3:1 - Result: ✅ hit final TP The statistics made it easier to pull the trigger when the setup lines up — no second-guessing.
