If the repair is $3,000, the insurance company will likely just total your car Insurance companies prefer this because it’s cheaper for them to pay you the Actual Cash Value, minus your deductible, and sell the wrecked car for parts and scrap But now you don’t have a car and just take the check that’s likely below what you need to buy a similar car

She explained everything was already paid through the app. The driver didn’t budge. No extra money, no food. Situations like this are a reminder: once a transaction is completed through a platform, no one should be asking for more money at the door. That crosses the line from service into something much more questionable. Always report it; because if it happened to you, it’s probably happening to others too.
