That puts an end to a truly bizarre Cubs career for Cole Mathis.
Drafted in 2024 out of college in the 2nd round, he didn’t debut until 2025 due to injury and only played in 29 full season games. He was then assigned back to Low-A this year and crushed it but has again been hurt

My word. The strikeout rate is going to be a serious issue at higher levels, but clearly he can't keep playing at Low-A. He has been absurd over the last month.
