The burned-area stat is real and it's the most misused number in climate discourse. It's down because savanna is becoming farmland. Meanwhile forest fire emissions are climbing, the most extreme fires on Earth doubled in two decades, and 40% more people are living in the burn scar. Grass fires stopped. Forests started. Those aren't the same thing, and only one of them is the one Sanders was talking about.
