Unicef is deeply saddened by the passing of Dr. David Nabarro, a tireless advocate and true champion for nutrition, children and families. His legacy, including his work through the SUN Movement and many global efforts, will continue to guide and inspire us. He will be missed.

Child labour has no place in our world. By strengthening child protection, improving access to education, and providing social protection, we can eliminate this scourge. Let's work to get children out of the workforce and back into school.

While UNICEF continues to seek for funding to fully reopen all grades, we need support from partners to ensure that every Rohingya child is learning again.

"When our school closed indefinitely, I was heartbroken. My dream of becoming an engineer felt out of reach. But today, as our school reopens, I’m over the moon to be back. I’m no longer sitting idle at home but chasing my dreams once again.” - Mohammed Khan, 18, Grade 9.
