Grade 4 Fantasy writing unit celebration! The authors each wrote a blurb for their fantasy and got to browse and sign up for whose stories they will read at tomorrow's celebration. Yes!!!! #tcrwp

@LitROCK_taylor If you want to show a complete, finished written product (chunk of writing, reading notebook entry, t chart, timeline, etc.) shift to thinking aloud the whole thing but writing just a bit in front of them. Reveal your pre-written product to fast forward and show the entire thing.

Minilessons provide an opportunity for Ss to gather together to learn about a strategy that can move them forward in their thinking. Making some simple shifts can keep this time short giving Ss more time for practice. How do you keep your ML short? #LiteracyTipTuesday #RSDLearns

We are connecting ideas across texts today in Grade 2. "The submarine and plane books both show the different parts inside! Some of them look almost the same!"

As writing workshop teachers, we talk a lot about aiming for children to write with AGENCY (the capacity, condition, or state of acting or exerting power). Here it is captured by a photo. 20+ graphic novels written by choice, at home, by a 3rd grader. #tcrwp
