That’s KEMF wrapped up for another year! We closed the festival last night with a packed-out chapel and a stunning performance of Monteverdi’s Vespers. Huge thanks to all the artists, students, school children, coaches, and volunteers who made it possible, and see you next year!

We close KEMF 2019 with Monteverdi's Vespers. It melds sacred and profane, contrasts plainchant with extravagantly decorated lines, and supplies moments of sublime intimacy alongside bellowing climaxes. A starry line-up of soloists joins @ecse1610 @KebleChoir @NewCollegeChoir.

Very enjoyable concert. Great to see young players working together. Glad that they introduced the pieces. Elisabeth Jacquet de la Guerre was new to me - I expect we listened more attentively than the French court did when her music was first played.
