🔌‼️ Power Reminder! WHEN you evacuate, we recommend turning off your electricity at the main breaker. This helps protect your electrical system, ensures personal safety and speeds up restoration efforts when it’s safe to return. For more great information from Tampa Electric, click the link below.

The #ClearwaterBeach you know and love is not ready for visitors. While @myclearwaterPD checkpoints will have ended to allow #traffic on and off the barrier island, now is not the time to come to Clearwater to sightsee. The roadways to the barrier island are open now so that contractors, cleanup crews and resources can get to and help our beach residents and business owners. We want to remind people that our beach is not ready to host visitors. The public bathing #beach is closed and is filled with dirty #sand and #debris, and dead marine life is causing it to smell. Parking lots are not available because they are staging locations for piles of sand and equipment, roadways are still full of sand, there is no power or restrooms, and sand conditions are not ideal. We also don’t want visitors clogging the streets and keeping crews who are hard at recovery efforts to get slowed down or even stopped. The city of #Clearwater asks you….please do not come to the beach to galivant and satisfy any sense of curiosity. If you do, this would be at the expense of our residents and businesses that have already lost so much.

#Helene uprooted lives across multiple states & those affected may be feeling overwhelmed. As you start the clean-up process, one step survivors can take is to apply for disaster assistance. Visit our blog for things to look out for when you apply: fema.gov/blog/were-you-…

We are seeing an increase in salespeople trying to gain access to the beaches. Be aware that unlicensed contractors often target homeowners following a storm. Ensure that any contractors you hire are properly licensed. Find out if they are licensed here at myfloridalicense.com

Some GOOD news! The 8 am update from the NHC has dropped the chance of development in the Gulf over the next 7 days from 50% to 40%. Model data is all over the place with this as some of the models don't have anything forming here until the weekend or maybe even early next week.

As #HurricaneHelene continues, the AquaFence at TGH stands firm. The water-impermeable barrier is designed to withstand storm surge up to 15 feet. It has worked through multiple rain events to prevent storm waters from impacting hospital operations. #WeAreTGH #StormWatch
