Our horribly cruel use + abuse of animals leads to novel viruses like #coronavirus, SARS, #birdflu + more.
Animals kept in cramped filthy, conditions, killed in close proximity to other animals, incl. humans, increases the chances of a virus crossing from one species to another.
@horwitzpolitics Twitter mum here. I’m so so proud of you! What an amazing achievement! Massive hug 🤗. In case no-one has told you, you are capable of anything. The sky is the limit! 🙌
Any virtual Twitter mother out there to give me a virtual hug?
I academically achieved but no mum or dad to tell. No one to say they are proud of me. So I have the sads.
Yes I know, im pathetic!
Me: "I can't come do that TTO because I'm in A&E and it's busy"
Nurse: "Aw you poor thing. Hey you know that Vocera phone you have? Let me show you a cool feature"
Me: "Wha-"
Nurse: "Vocera, locate Zayd."
Vocera: "Zayd is in the Dr's mess"
*Silence*
Nurse: "Get your ass up here."
@NickTriggle There is an easy solution…
It’s just not palatable…
Tax more rich people and corporations
= Adequate social care that actively pulls from hospitals
= Adequate bed and staff numbers so that we are not at the bottom of the league tables of beds/staff per head of population 👍🏻
“I wear a mask wherever the rules say I should and I urge everyone else to do the same,” said Boris Johnson.
He took his mask off in an NHS hospital last week despite staff telling him on 3 occasions to put it on
The truth shall set us free..
#DowningStreetBriefing
Can @sajidjavid clarify whether, as SoS for health, he would wear a face covering when in an NHS building? NHS staff willingly do. Does he back them or @BorisJohnson’s flagrant disregard for masking today?
@wildcamping01@Tom_Millennial You know the original thread that was commented on was in sexual violence, right? I’m not the one off topic. Keep your patronising tone to yourself.
Most guys don’t look in the mirror & see a problem. But it’s staring us in the face. Sexual violence begins long before you think it does. #DontBeThatGuy
@NoConjecture@ThatGuyScotland As I have already said, it doesn’t stop non-perpetrators being part of the solution by not passively condoning a culture that supports sexual violence.
@Keeperofthebee1@ThatGuyScotland From that data then:
773000 sexual offences in the UK last year.
If each of those was committed by a different one of the 32.9 million males in the UK, that would mean 2.3% of men have committed a sexual offence.
Yet, this campaign suggests the other 97.7% are also responsible
@NoConjecture@ThatGuyScotland Even non-perpetrators can be supportive of a positive change to a culture that currently passively promotes and condones sexual violence.
