@IN5IDE4D @ChikenAU "They should have done this from the start" is not a rug pull. Maps clearly wasn't a top priority for their initial rollout. They've listened and course corrected, sadly it doesn't take a weekend to build a map, hence we're getting 3 NEW maps in season 5.

@DqRoman1 People don't realize that without a competitive scene, no game will hold numbers. Everyone get's bored eventually. When it's competitive people play to get better, build teams, go to tournaments etc. The drive to play more is skill progression not the actual game.

I hate when people try to be intellectual about games by just saying random buzzwords. CS players been playing the same game mode on dust using the same gun for 50 fuckin years. It doesn't have shit to do with updates no matter how much the internet tries to point that as the blame. Reality is, the core gameplay of arc raiders just isn't something that's gonna keep players for 10k hours like some other titles. People played the fuck out of it for a couple months straight, had a blast, then got bored. Arc raiders is one of the least competitive extraction shooters out there, and competition is what makes a lot of live service games thrive long term especially in the shooter space. Constant updates is a bandaid fix that brings people back for update day, then the numbers just dip even lower after a week. Just like destiny. It's big spikes, then bigger drops. Updates can't hide shallow gameplay forever. The gameplay loop just isn't one to invest all your free time into. And that's okay. Every game doesn't have to consume your life.

I've seen talk about Arc Raiders playercounts dropping significantly since launch. It's a really fun game, but the devs only have themselves to blame. You NEED to be updating your game with new maps, guns, modes and skins if you want players to return and they haven't done that.🤷‍♀️ DO BETTER and your players will stick around. Otherwise, there's millions of other experiences to choose from.

@JulianJanganoo The old roadmap clearly didn't have maps as a priority. They did listen though because as you can see season 5 has 3 NEW maps. They weren't gonna whip it up in a weekend, it takes time to change course and build the new strategy.

3 new map remakes (arguably 4 maps "paracel storm") and 2 reworks of existing maps! Absolute fucking disaster! It's amazingly embarrassing and disappointing. Will BF Studios ever learn? We don't want them wasting time and talent to rework maps like 2042. Just awful! Learn Dice, learn.

@Taveraco Nah not really, multiplayer is large scale warfare, something for everyone. The purpose of ranked is to filter into competitive. You're not gonnna build a 32 player clan to go compete with. RedSec is the competitive arm of Battlefield. You can build a team of 4 to go compete.

@EndersFPS Unfortunately that was probably the old roadmap. They’ve clearly listened to the community that maps is a priority. Problem is you can’t build one in a week, hence 3 new maps coming in season 5. I’m fine with a bit of patience given this feedback.

Important point imo. If you look at Season 3 & 4 the only truly new map is Tsuru Reef. I understand the remake maps arent easy to make either, but it isn't truly *new* content to the franchise.

@EndersFPS Why would we want 90% if bf6's dlc maps to be remakes? It's pathetic really. Remakes are nostalgic and great additional content, but not as THE CONTENT.

A white man selling on the street will never benefit from BBBEE simply because he’s white… and that’s where the conversation becomes uncomfortable 🤔 Why do we exclude people when poverty clearly does not check race first? Every community has people who are struggling, hustling, and trying to survive. Yes, we must address historical injustices and we the blacks may be majority but not all of us are poor to this extent. Empowerment in 2026 should also recognise present-day realities? Why not move towards something like "all-inclusive empowerment" that still redresses the past but doesn’t ignore anyone who is genuinely in need today? Because real empowerment should uplift the poor not just label them. Ma’am @KhuselaS : redressing imbalances must include everyone who is disadvantaged, not just me and you, in fact me and u should not even qualify for that tender to supply PPE we should give it to Thabo's startup in KwaThema Otherwise, if u get that tender we not solving inequality… we just reshaping it, we just enriching already rich top blacks in the name of BEE🤷🏽‍♂️ You need to humble yourselves and CHANGE THIS THING...

@CAMIKAZE78 If they've abandoned this it's completely short sighted. A competitive element adds massive community and longevity to a game(see CS/Dota). People then don't only play for "fun" they play to get better, compete, build teams. Without it a game will naturally fizzle out.

I’ve had a few people ask me about this in streams so just to make it clear… No, we have not heard any updates about the RedSec Elite Series kicking off again. It’s now been 4 months and there’s still been no material changes from our perspective as competitors, despite us being another season deep into the game AND the Elite Series was originally posited to be a “seasonal” event. I understand that IF this is still happening, that there’s work going on to make sure the fiasco from last year doesn’t happen again. However, it’s a bit disheartening to still be here with no material updates man… The concept of the Elite Series and the emergence of an officially supported, competitive Battlefield format was awesome. Something we’ve been wanting from the devs and EA for a long time. And then it’s all just… screeched to an evident halt overnight. It absolutely sucks man. I want to be wrong, but my confidence in this coming back is fading pretty quickly.

So the RedSec Elite Series for APAC never went live. We spent 3 hours stuck in a purgatory of updates, told endlessly to keep waiting for news on WHEN we would start playing. Yeah I'm not going to lie lads. That was one of the least professional displays I have seen from a company in tournament management. I'm not trying to be a dick here, but that was 3 hours of dicking around, had to wait excessively long for updates that came late, and were left scratching our heads. People took annual leave and time away from work to be here for this. Moved committments. Used PTO. Half of the roster work or study full time and now we need to reschedule a match on short notice. This is now going to really screw people's schedules something absolutely fierce in December during the busiest time of year. This. Off the back of a MASSIVE blunder with yesterday's update? Simply unacceptable. Do better.
