@ClaudeDevs your official docs say Claude design is billed separately, yet it’s just blasted through my regular Claude usage limits. What gives?

@Keiron_Lowe @theadelites The referee should have sent off Dom Calvert-Lewin and stamped authority, but failed to and that ended any chance of him having a grip on the game.

FT Chelsea 1 #LUFC 0 The club that has spent £2.233 billion the last 3 seasons; and spent a large chunk of this Wembley semi-final theatrically throwing themselves to the floor won. Chelsea were resurgent after their ‘supply teacher’ was relieved of his job. Turned out it was the worst time to play Chelsea who showed none of the quality their riches deserved. Leeds changed tactics at HT and switched to a back four and caused the London club massive problems. To combat this, Robert Sanchez got an “injury” and the whole Chelsea team went over for a team talk. The Blues were suddenly much more composed after that. Leeds didn’t do enough to earn a place in the Final despite being hampered by a referee who fell for Chelsea’s theatrics at every turn and allowed them to snuff any momentum Leeds had started to build up over the match. Another visit to Wembley, still not seen Leeds score.

The post is a standard X update with the text "Don't tap" and an attached PNG image. The image—a stylized drawing of a player with a hypnotic yellow eye—was likely created using graphic design software like Photoshop or AI tools, playing on the club's tiger motif for curiosity and engagement.

We watched tanaka produce masterclass after masterclass last season against championship sides. He's not suddenly a worse player now, this is the result of everything that comes with a lack of gametime

@MavenPolitic Would be interesting if we had data for fatal collisions and alcohol level of the driver. I doubt many collisions are caused by drivers who have 1 or 2, instead it would be by those who are well over the limit.

If a single pint after work with colleagues becomes legally risky, then the 5-7pm pub business collapses. Completely. With so many pubs already struggling, this will be a death knell.

We've got the biggest overhaul of road safety for a generation coming on Wednesday, @benclatworthy reports * Motorists over 70 face mandatory eyesight tests every three years, ending the system of self-reporting * The government is also drawing up plans for a detailed cognitive test for older drivers * The drink-drive limit is likely to be reduced from 35mg/100ml to 22mg, making even a pint risky * Drivers will be given penalty points if passengers fail to wear seatbelts * Ministers believe that the figures show that key road safety messages about wearing seatbelts and avoiding drink-driving no longer work. * They are concerned around a rise in drug-driving and the number of older people who continue to drive, despite having failing sight and other medical conditions thetimes.com/uk/transport/a…

@ste_bau Actually, it has to rebuild the entire table, not just the column. I,e, create a new temp table, copy the data over, delete the old table and rename the new one

@ste_bau Also, MySQL can’t just add a new value, it has to recreate the entire column so on large tables it can be a nightmare.

A lesson I learned way too late (that's probably already obvious to many of you): Don't use MySQL enum columns. Use an indexed string column with a PHP enum cast instead. Here’s why: 1. You need a new migration every time you add a value 2. You have to manually gather the full list of possible values for every one of those migrations (painful when you have hundreds of migrations) 3. Teammates on other branches might add enum values that conflict with yours, leading to merge hell, and require all teammates to be aware at all times 4. Forgetting to reconcile those enum values before deploy can (and will) break production It's just a nightmare to manage and better to avoid all together. Found this out the hard way by breaking production several times before we gave in and migrated over to all string columns 😅 Haven't had an issue since

@AdiTheSaints @ToryWipeout And how long has that been the case for? It’s been like that for a while now, going back to the tories. Confused as to why you’re complaining about it on a post about indicators that the economy is doing better under Labour. Surely you should be happy, Rome wasn’t built in a day

@ToryWipeout Just pointing out the obvious mate, correlation to inflation, simple economics. £300 would’ve got you a months worth of food and fuel for the car back then, £300 now is barely enough for two or three weeks worth of food. Delusional.

@ssijak @mattpocockuk Agreed, the language is rarely the bottleneck unless your Facebook or something like that, it’s typically the database so choosing your language based on performance is a micro optimisation in 95% of cases

"faster" is not an issue for 95% of the apps, or I would say 99.99% apps people in your comments are building. Its literally a non issue. If "faster" becomes an issue you: can fix it by scaling easily, you have a really nice problem and a lot of money pouring in to you, you are in 0.01% that needs a different language/platform. What TS excels at is DX and by that I mean the complete package and ecosystem and availability of devs of being able to get to time to market fast and iterate while having a convenient enough language and good enough tooling.

@basilthegreat Because it is racist. Calling for a ban of Halal meat (in which 87% is stunned) but not Kosher meat (where 0% is stunned) shows you don’t give a shit about animal welfare, it’s just an excuse to attack Muslims again.
