I’ve spent my life fighting to make Minnesota a fairer place where everyone can live with dignity, safety, and respect. From lowering drug costs to holding corporations accountable, I’ll always stand up for Minnesotans.

Convicting those responsible for George Floyd’s murder was necessary — but not enough. Nothing can bring him back.  There is still more work to do to achieve lasting reform and build public safety that includes everyone. But I’m proud that, together, Minnesota showed no one is above the law — and no one is beneath it.

Six years ago, after the world heard George Floyd’s final words — “I can’t breathe” — my team and I were called upon to prosecute.  We secured convictions for those directly responsible, for Floyd, for his family, and for the people of Minnesota.

I’m thinking of George Floyd’s family on the anniversary of his murder. In the years since he was killed, they and our community have shown extraordinary courage — transforming grief into a powerful fight for justice and accountability. Their leadership continues to inspire me.

Today, we remember the brave Americans who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our country. We remember their sacrifice, hold their families in our hearts, and recommit ourselves to building a nation worthy of that sacrifice.  Wishing everyone a safe and meaningful Memorial Day.

Exciting news! Our bill, the MAP Act, passed in both the House and Senate and is headed to the Governor's desk to be signed into law. This will give my office more resources to fight fraud and protect vulnerable Minnesotans.

I will gladly partner with all those who are committed to holding fraudsters accountable. In Minnesota, no one is above the law.

Minnesota’s labor movement has always fought for working people, and because of that fight, families across our state now have things like Paid Family & Medical Leave, safer workplaces, better wages, and stronger protections on the job. These charges are an expression of our effort to bring forward meaningful accountability and justice for the people of Minnesota. No one is above the law, and no Minnesotan is beneath it.

HCMC is a critical resource for all of Minnesota, and I’ll never stop fighting to protect it. I’m grateful for Dr. John Cumming’s leadership and for every healthcare worker and staff member who shows up every day to care for our communities. They deserve leaders who will stand with them and fight for what’s right.

Today, Minnesota students and gun safety advocates delivered 8,000 signed letters to House Speaker Lisa Demuth demanding action on gun violence prevention. With days left in the legislative session, @LisaDemuthMN has hidden the bill in a desk drawer to avoid a vote on the reform Minnesotans demand. It’s time she stops playing games and starts taking action to save lives.

This is a huge win for Minnesota. This funding gives my team the resources we need to prosecute more fraudsters, protect Medicaid, and make sure healthcare dollars go to seniors, kids, people with disabilities, and families who rely on these services.
