I made a post on this yesterday. Sounds crazy as we finished 7th but in truth we are only 5-6 points off of the top half and challenging for Europe. We’ve made ample mistakes but our style of play is more progressive and we have a better footing to progress further. Take the Ange spell out and we aren’t far away from Bmth.

@forestmad80 This take is absolutely wild. Honest, this is wild. You are online arguing that a team that is currently in a relegation battle is BETTER than a team that fell out of a CL spot on the last game of the season, and a Bournmouth team that is currently trying to get in there now.

@forestmad80 ? What? Better than last season? We finished 7th. This year we have not even yet avoided relegation. How exactly are forest better than last season? And what can forest offer players next year that bournmouth can't? Other than more money.

@forestmad80 Yep, all of that is true. But at this time bournmouth are on the upgrade (as you noted in the original post re playing at Bernaboa). Forest are likely on the downgrade. Right now, bmouth are a better proposition for footballers than forest are.

Football is always cyclical, they are enjoying a really good period of time. I live down here so I’ve seen them go from the depth of despair and minutes away from going out of business. (I literally put money in a bucket to help save them). They’ve done great, Eddie was insanely talented in taking them there and they’ve been managed off the pitch remarkably but things change quickly. I do think they’ll find a new challenge when Andoni leaves and they are trying to manage Europe and the prem.

@forestmad80 I get that, as I acknowledged it was a piss take. But other than the number of plastic seats, Bournmouth are a superior football team to forest on every measurable metric. And once our best fuck off, the gap will widen even further.

the ball from McAtee to Hutch was probably the only piece of high quality we saw from #NFFC. I like McAtee. He's got something different to anyone else in the squad. We should stick with him and develop his physicality. I was a bit surprised it was him not Igor that got hooked.

@forestmad80 Not sure I agree. Bournmouth & Fulham eg have made steady progress. Calm, measured, steady progress. We are owned by an erratic Maverick. Relegation, relegation, top 7, relegation. He's great, but ownership in this current guise, chaos is almost baked in.

Now the dust has settled it’s natural to find ourselves in a reflective mood. Of course last night was disappointing but I also think it serves as an opportunity to see how far we’ve come along with providing a blueprint of what we need to do from Villa. In truth we are 3-4 seasons behind Villa and last night was a stark reminder of that but there’s also no shame in that. I think there’s much to be excited about for the future and I’m genuinely intrigued to see how Vitor can do with a full preseason and sprinkling of quality added in key areas. I firmly believe we can push for Europe again next season if we can settle down and get some continuity. Let’s see if the lads can muster up enough energy to get us over the line on Sunday and then we rebuild. I’m still proud of how we’ve performed since Vitor has come in. #NFFC
