Virtually ​all major oil refineries in central Russia have been forced to ‌halt or scale back fuel output following Ukrainian drone attacks in recent days, Reuters reports. The combined capacity of refineries that have fully ​or partially halted operations exceeds 83 million metric tons per year, ⁠or around 238,000 tons per day. That accounts for around one ​quarter of Russia's total refining capacity, according to data and sources who spoke ​on condition of anonymity.

Збройні сили планують сформувати 2 нові механізовані бригади. Попри тотальну неукомплектованість двох сотень інших бригад. Попри тотальний дефіцит якісних командирів та старшин. Потри величезну незакриту потребу в ОВТ, дронах, транспорті, НРК та іншому майні. Попри численні заяви різних посадових осіб, що цього не буде. Я не знаю якою логікою керуються ті, хто приймають такі рішення. Але, здається, вперше, Фонд @BackAndAlive відразу декларує, що ми не можемо і не будемо працювати з цими вч. На привеликий жаль, ми не здатні закривати всеохопні запити від усіх Сил оборони, на все, в умовах скорочення надходжень на «поточку». Наші ~150 млн/грн на місяць вже немає куди більше дробити. Сподіваюся, ті, хто планує створення цих зʼєднань, вже знають за який кошт їх будуть формувати та забезпечувати.

The degree to which mass migration is now a globalised problem is hugely underdiscussed in the West. Since the end of COVID it really feels like the valves have been opened worldwide, including mass influxes to many non-Western and middle-income nations. I hope we tell them no. If anything, they can purchase a license and manufacture under that agreement while paying us. Transferring the rights should be off the table. The US weapons production operates on a strict licensing basis, so I don’t see why Ukraine should transfer

An underappreciated side effect of the Russia-Ukraine war is that at some point Transnistria will cease to exist. It's economically, militarily and politically untenable. Ukraine and Moldova/Romania just haven't worked out how to deal with the aftermath yet.

Look, the birth rates of places such as India or Mexico are now below the world's average and below the minimum replacement rate of 2.1. Yes even India is suffering an aging population now. They're getting the same problems Europe has: a dwindling working population with a growing elderly demographic in need of care. If you were wondering about the mass Indian exodus in recent years, it's partly because India relies on remittances to keep their economy afloat. Otherwise, Indian birth rates would collapse even further. Eventually, sub-Saharan African birth rates must also come down, and since their regions hardly have proper census counts anyway, I suspect the African numbers may already be inflated. (Faking high births could win you more development aid.)

If nothing else tonight's Moscow light show will ensure that the majority of new AD goes to/stays in Moscow, ensuring greater vulnerability elsewhere. Even if the hits recorded tonight might be disproportionate to the effort (which isn't clear) this could be a useful shaping op.

Turns out the remaining tanks here likely were T-64s and they just pulled them out to do God knows what with them. We see at least 11 of the 26 remaining tanks in the 6018th in this video.
