So many fucking hours wasted in this accursed site trying to drill into people's heads that 1 tank gone from storage ≠ 1 tank destroyed

@T_90AK Pretty much only T-64s left in that junkyard now. All the T-62s and BMPs there have been pulled out in the latest months. And even a dozen or so T-64s too.

When people ask why strikes on logistics (both Ukrainians 🇺🇦 and Russians 🇷🇺) matter, there is an obvious response : No one will lack vehicles, the issue is about supplies, like in this video on the Dobropilla axis, where there are 62 destroyed Russian vehicles on a 300 meters road. Each time, supplies are not coming to frontline units, soldiers are dying or being wounded and roads are being obstructed. Is this enough ? Not yet, but russian progress has significantly slowed down in many areas where there are no cities to hide supplies and vehicles. Are the Ukrainians also suffering from these strikes ? Yes, of course, but first, they have fewer troops on the frontline, they are using more UGVs and Russian FPV drones are not going often that far from the frontline.

The apparent inability of @esa and @Arianespace to replicate the SpaceX success in landing an orbital-class booster more than a decade later, when others have been able to do so, is inexcusable! Everyone in charge at @esa and @Arianespace is an incompetent useless moron!

Igor "Strelkov" Girkin claims that no one from the commissariat has come to the penal colony in 6 months to try and recruit convicts. He claims that the number of convicts willing to sign contracts to go to assault units is almost zero. "The prison colony is home to quite a few convicted deserters (Article 337), who [have] crippled arms and stiff knees from severe wounds. Any objective military medical commission would, with 100% certainty, [would] declare these [men] unfit even for non-combatant service. But they are, nonetheless, sentenced as deserters. And after this, do they even hope to lure anyone into the army, given such a swinish disregard for their own wounded soldiers? I know that among our 'Sochi men' there are many genuine 'draft dodgers and deserters.' They may even be the majority, but I can't bring myself to condemn them—given what's happening. Especially considering the seething crowds of 'metropolitan scum' at various celebrations and festivals, sports events, and other things 'showed' on TV." "By the way—I don't remember if I wrote about this: for over six months now, we haven't seen any 'recruiters' for the 'stormtroopers'—apparently because the few willing are 'caught' while still in pretrial detention or immediately upon arrival at the penal colony—under quarantine. Joining the army from the ranks has become such a rarity that it's now being 'judged and judged' on a case-by-case basis. But in the summer and fall of 2024, when I first arrived at the colony, people were actually leaving for war in droves and even waiting 3-4 months to be drafted... What am I getting at? - Well, at the prospects for a successful mobilization, if/when it's announced."

@WCPGW_SU @JohnH105 It's just an uparmored UGV to deliver supplies to the trenches and bring back wounded. RC tech isn't cutting edge tech either.

@Jonpy99 @JohnH105 It kind of makes sense but i'd wager a dedicated RC plateform would be much cheaper than the costs of conversion whilst still bringing most of the advantages.

Russian refinery throughput has now collapsed to 2.8mbpd from 5.1mbpd in 2022. Omsk is severely damaged, though not yet fully offline (see below). Gasoline, diesel and jet shortages are now emerging simultaneously. With multiple crude distillation units (CDUs) knocked out across the refinery system, there is no quick path to restoring refining capacity. Sustained product imports are becoming Russia's only viable medium-term solution. Good luck with that. Belarus' Mozyr refinery is the Kremlin's best hope for securing up to 90kbpd of gasoline and a bit of jet and diesel. But it sits just across the Ukrainian border and is itself an obvious strategic target - expressis verbis by @ZelenskyyUa. @MFA_Ukraine

The damage assessment from the Omsk refinery is starting to come in. If confirmed, Russia's gasoline crisis is about to accelerate. Monday's strike hit Omsk (Gazprom Neft), Russia's largest refinery, accounting for 8-10% of national refining capacity and serving as the country's biggest gasoline producer. It was Ukraine's deepest strike of the war so far, reaching roughly 2,500km, reportedly with the new Fire Point FP-1 drone. According to industry sources, CDU-10, a crude distillation unit, the heart of any refinery, accounting for 38% of Omsk's throughput (24,580t/day), caught fire and was damaged. A second crude unit, CDU-11 (24,000t/day, 37% of capacity), was forced offline after essential utility links were damaged, although it may return to service later this year. In theory, Omsk has two mothballed crude units, CDU-7 and CDU-8 (10,000t/day each), which could theoretically be restarted, though it remains unclear to me whether that is operationally feasible. For more details, see my table below. You won't find better that on this platform.

We often talk about how warfare has changed because of how cheap FPVs are, but the low cost/large quantities of heavy bomber drones like the Vampire have added new opportunities for infantry units. Infantry can move more rapidly without being weighed down by heavy rucksacks and ammunition/batteries, and Vampires can resupply them. Heavy bombers enable greater infantry mobility than was previously possible. This was most notable during the Kupyansk counterattack last fall.
