@mboyle1959 @coach_j_lima Besides that, I think a more common sense approach is “risk versus reward“ ….that usually answers most questions about whether you should do a particular exercise or not.

Throwing things in the weight room doesn’t only have to be Med balls. Now. This wasn’t the first time he did this. We had a progression with weight as well as spotters. Spotters started with 1.) Three spotters. One at head (me) and 2 on side 2.) Just me at head 3.) Just a teammate at head 4.) No spotter This is only done with the refined athletes. Not with foundation. The training ages were - foundation - foundation plus - refined - refined plus Had OL and DL cards for the last 2. The QB and K/P card was so different from each player that can’t even say they had their own “card” cuz each K/P or QB did something so different to each other.

New coaches, and new trainers; in between your over volumizing programming, influencer videos, and tweeting, please, please, please take a law class. It will change the way you deal with athletes in clients. For the better.

@mboyle1959 @coach_j_lima They would bring in five or more experts, with the same experience, the same certifications, and the same background as you, and ask them if they would behave in the same way that you, as a defendant did? If the answer is no, you’re pretty much screwed.

@coach_j_lima @KeithScott In the case of a lawsuit reasonable would be decided either by a judge or a jury. The concept of a jury of your peers does not mean a jury of strength coaches.

@mboyle1959 @coach_j_lima Whenever young coaches, ask me what coursework they should take to become a coach or a trainer, I always start with “a law class”. That, will fundamentally influence how you deal with players and clients.

@coach_j_lima I’m not sure this is a good choice? I always say “think like a lawyer”. When the judge asks “did you actually say throw the bar up in the air over your face and try to catch it”. Your answer will have to be yes.

Tough Teacher? Transfer to another class. Trainer works me too hard, Transfer to another gym. Don't like my coach? Transfer to a new school. You wont magically get disciplined in a new program. You wont magically work hard for a new coach. The problem is you. #TransferGeneration

There is a big difference between optimal and good. You can usually get decent results from even a sh*tty strength program if it’s done consistently. Athletes need to seek optimal over good. Coaches need to know the difference if they are working with athletes. #ExperienceMatters

Teachers, want to take something off your plate? Put HW in the trash. Especially for elementary, let students go home, run, play, and enjoy being a child. And read a little after playing. Then they come to school recharged instead of stressed out and you will too!
