One last post (unless new info is published of course), and that is why Im so into this. If you pay attention to my posts on here over the many years, I always stand up for people, some i know, some i dont, who have accusations made against them by media or government or someone in power. No different when I had the Mavs and i tried to stand up for our players when i thought they were unfairly attacked. It probably started when the SEC came after me over nonsense. Someone in DC just wanted me to be a skin on the wall. In this case, @PabloTorre has nothing conclusive. A lot of if this, then it must mean that. He does a great job as an investigative journalist, and I respect him. I truly am not making this personal. He found sources and documents, but i truly believe he doesn't understand the business or deal side. Which in this case where you are talking about hundreds of millions and even potentially billions of dollars, and its insanely complicated because of the SPAC/Fraud, it's rarely going to be about what AP/Finance/Marketing, or even the execs, when the person making all the decisions isn't at the crux of what you find. Saying you have people who disagreed with Sanberg is meaningless when he has abolute power at the company. Yet he still went after Ballmer. Yes Ballmer can speak for himself , for the most part. He cant say everything publicly. He just can't. But he will definitely have to be completely candid and forthcoming with the NBA. @PabloTorre should have had better information before coming after him I'm not saying I can't be wrong. Maybe I am, and if so, i will congratulate Pablo. He did the work. That counts for a lot.

@24thminute @Luccidor @fordnation Not an expert, or an Ontario lawyer, but there's a general principle that you can't Jedi mind-trick one type of contract (say, a lease) into another type simply by writing "this is not a lease" on it. I think that's what the experts quoted in the article are saying as well.

@Luccidor @24thminute Not a loophole/legal. Only there to convince tenants they've signed away rights they can't sign away. Pro-tip: Just because you've signed a contract, doesn't mean that the contract itself is binding/legal. That said, clear that someone is counting on people not to know this.

@24thminute Imagine dreaming up that loophole and then actually acting on it with no qualms...

This discrepancy has been the case for awhile. International students from countries that the Government of Quebec has agreements with (like France, but also South Korea if memory serves) have paid less than out-of-province Canadians.
