@KellenManning It's not like anyone is going to change their minds because of someone's take on social media. All politics does is divide people. So with all due respect, yes, I think it's weird anyone would talk politics on social media. It's not worth it.

I stay on Twitter (or X, whatever) because of sports news, takes, etc. I also believe you should post whatever you please. Having said that, there is entirely too much politics on this platform, and I can't ever think of a reason that's acceptable in a public forum.

@SoCalBrett @afsaalumni Eh. As wild as it sounds there are thousands of kids with those numbers or better. He ranked in the top 1 percent of the US but what was his world ranking? He’s great, but if you read the applications you’d probably find there are a bunch of kids on that level.

@afsaalumni If I was the President (Chancellor) at any school, I recruit Stanley, offer him a full ride and do whatever it takes to get Stanley and students like him (if there are any others) on campus.

Stanley Zhong had a 4.42 GPA, a 1590 SAT, and ranked in the top 1% of the USA Computing Olympiad (Platinum). He built a free e-signing platform, reached the semifinals of Google Code Jam, and placed 2nd in MIT’s Battlecode. Still, 15 of 18 colleges rejected him — including Stanford, MIT, Carnegie Mellon, and even Cal Poly. But numbers aside, what’s most striking is hearing from Stanley himself. In the clip below, you’ll see a thoughtful, humble young man who even admits he didn’t expect to get into every top school — but still thought the state schools were within reach. He’s not alone. Stories like this are surfacing everywhere. Students are asking: When did merit stop mattering? It’s time we start rewarding it.

They need a coaching change, imho. I don’t really see the Angel Reese at LSU where she would dominate entire halves with her activity on the defensive end. Her future is as a Ben Wallace/Draymond DPOY type but Cardoso blocks that development and doesn’t add much either.

Gotta be the change we want to see in the world so I’ll ask: Do the Sky need to trade Cardoso and try to turn Angel into a version of Draymond playing the 5 in the lineup of death? I think she’s good enough defensively and doesn’t hamstring them rebound wise in same way.
