@PlymouthMN_gov My heart is heavy with the loss of such a great man/friend. It was an honor to serve our city with him. He was professional, respectful & intelligent. He will be greatly missed but leaves behind a legacy of caring and commitment to community. Condolences to his family.

The City of Plymouth received the sad news that former Public Safety Director/Police Chief Mike Goldstein passed away as a result of a medical incident Tuesday, May 20. Goldstein retired in January 2021 following a landmark career in Plymouth that spanned more than three decades. “We are heartbroken with the news of Mike’s passing,” said current Public Safety Director/Police Chief Erik Fadden, who served with Goldstein for 16 years. “Mike leaves behind a lasting and unmatched legacy. He inspired everyone who met him – a true servant leader whose contributions to public safety will be felt for years to come.” Raised in Plymouth, Goldstein devoted nearly his entire professional life to the city. He joined Plymouth’s first class of Police Explorers as a high schooler in 1984, and went on to be a part of the first group of Plymouth Police Reserves. In 1990, Goldstein was hired as a full-time sworn officer with the Plymouth Police Department. He was promoted to sergeant in 1994, lieutenant in 2001, captain in 2003, police chief in 2004 and was named the city’s public safety director in 2015, when the Police and Fire departments joined under one umbrella. “Our thoughts and prayers are with the Goldstein family,” said Fadden. “He was one in a million.” The City of Plymouth has lowered flags to half-mast in honor of Goldstein.

Sad news. Council Member Davis was a dedicated public servant that went above and beyond representing his Ward. We had great laughs and some occasional respectful disagreements. It was an honor to work with him and I will miss him.

Paris is magnifique!! Visit was timed perfectly. No bedbugs and we missed the bomb threats at the Louvre & Versailles, by a day. Got the last train to Nice before another bomb threat temp closed our train station. Awesome 1st week in France!

Congratulations to @davecallister for winning the Dr. Robert A. Barrett Management Achievement Award! I had the privilege of working with him as my City Manager. Dave is a great example of strong leadership & innovation. He has lead @PlymouthMN_gov to the top. Cheers to Dave!🥂

Long walk in MN yesterday. Aggressively slipped on ice many times but caught myself. Flew to AZ last night before the storm. Went for a desert run this morning and half mile in, slipped on mud and fell flat on my face in a mud puddle. Finished with a bloody lip. Still a good day
