@reddthesock @RealPostFolder The reason why they get thousands of applicants is that the metagame of hiring is to just spam apply to every single posting you can because ATS systems will just filter you before any human so much as sees you applied.

@RealPostFolder Ugh. Defending HR leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I have to be fair. If they're getting thousands of applicants, they need something to pare them down. There's a maximum number of resumes you can read in a work day.

I can't stand those automated systems they use. They work exclusively off of keywords and constantly dump resumes of great candidates.

France made this wastefulness illegal cause it’s cruel and only causes more waste issues. Any food market or restaurant over 400 square meters has to donate all their good unsold food to charities and are fined if they do anything like this. That law should be applied everywhere

Nongames being baked into the game engine at its core are the reason people try to fix Magic's antiquated resource system. Piloted Shredder is significantly better game design than Polluted Delta.

In Yugioh, although the starting hand size is "only" 5, every deck gets 15 companions and that's using the original companion rules

Yugioh nowadays is built upon being able to go +3-6 off of 1 or 2 card combos in the hand. Typical cards are at least +2 in card advantage within their archetype.

The fundamental difference between Pokémon's and MTG's resource systems is that card-draw doesn't require energy, but it does require mana.
If you don't have energy, you can use Supporter cards to find them.
If you don't have mana, you can't use most draw/search effects.
