@GregBaldwinIroh When a body doesn't sleep it loses the ability to think and function properly. When one strives to always be "woke" the same thing happens: start seeing hatred in criticism, facisim in rules and respect for others, and racism in beneign acts. Take a nap from woke now and then.

@SussexHenryVIII Late gen X here. We knew things were going to get harder. It's why we were all sent to college: to get jobs of the future and a foundation of learning for the 3 career changes we could expect. We hit several crashes, but kept plodding. Your gen's crying to not have to try.

@RealPostFolder Ugh. Defending HR leaves a bad taste in my mouth, but I have to be fair. If they're getting thousands of applicants, they need something to pare them down. There's a maximum number of resumes you can read in a work day.

I can't stand those automated systems they use. They work exclusively off of keywords and constantly dump resumes of great candidates.

@jessgill03 You can have all the sympathy you want when you explain how it'll fix anything. Wanting a hug and to be allpwed to just wait until things get beter it a recipe for being in a worse place in a few years.

@AhogeRespecter While the "bombed in Japan" thing is bogus, it's fair to question if it would have any traction in NA. I'm not defending the dub. It's funny in shock value, not actual jokes. Just saying it's not a show anyone cares about on its own.

The Ghost Stories dub is like ground zero for all the modern problems with localization. It was made by a failed screenwriter who didn't like anime. Their justification for the dub was "It didn't do well Japan so they said we could do anything to make it sell" which is untrue.

A lot of anime shows dubbed into English are often very "woke". However, the official English dub of "Ghost Stories" is completely crazy lol. The original show in Japanese is nothing like this.

@LegionzGaming My game design knowledge is basic, but I don't think graphics are the cost driver. Features, size, and moving parts are what need to be built and tested. That and marketing. Those guys never come cheap.

The thought process of "if a game doesn't sell 5-10 million copies it's a bad game", is one of the dumbest shit I've ever heard in my life. Some of the best games that I have ever played have probably not even hit a million units sold. If companies would stop spending 200-400 million dollars to make their games look hyper realistic than they wouldn't have to sell that many copies. Final Fantasy games are part of that convo. I would much rather the graphics go back to looking like FF13 or FF10 than getting FF7 rebirth or FF16 graphics and have those games take 10 years to make. I've played JRPG's that have less than 20 million USD budgets that have probably sold 500,000 copies if they are lucky, which is at minimum not counting any DLC or collectors edition and deluxe editions, over 30 million dollars, so they make a really good profit. They survive plenty off of that because they have such a low cost and there are companies like Falcom with the Trails and Ys series that have been going strong for like 40 years with no issues and thats because they're not trying to make characters faces look so detailed that you can see the hair growing on their face. I would much rather a game have a Anime style or style like Tales of Arise then a hyper realistic looking game. At the end of the day it's subjective anyway.

@zennyyyplus Hell, the mockery has evolved. It's now being used as a metric of how bad the show or movie is. The louder amd earlier you attack, the shittier it is.

@zennyyyplus Oh they know. They bring it up all the time. They also point out it routinely fails because keeping the name in twitter doesn't boost sales and people can't be paid in social media engagement. They mock "what happened to all those people angry at us? You'd think they'd watch"

@clipsrams818 @Lacroyyy1 @Xhej__ Fine. I'm sure this will be the year whining about things on twitter will fix everything. Just because it hasn't yet doesn't mean you should stop trying. Meanwhile to boomers: take a nice vacation and spend liberally. Don't leave anything for spoiled kids.

@Lacroyyy1 @Xhej__ I work next to the HR team so I hear of the rejects. People usually with the technical skills, but not the personal and team ones that at least fake having the comapny's interest in mind. Point this out and watch the crying begin. 2/2

@Lacroyyy1 @Xhej__ Yesterday I commented on someone that couldn't even act like they were there for anything but a packcheck and was confused they didn't get the job. Eevn I know to fake it. Cold applying isn't trying. It's quantitative effort over focused qualitative effort. 1/2

@MeowyWood Cringe humor amt weirdness people reject no matter the concept behind it, is not good educational material. At best people don't watch. At worst, it comes off as weird fertilisation of a biological function making it harder to understand even if we try.

@SmashTriviaJohn Largely your side's inability to let it go. The childish need to assume someone not liking what you do is a deficiency in them doesn't build a positive relationship. We didn't like it. It doesn't impact your life beyond a show got cancelled. Move on.

@web3_prince2 @DiscussingFilm Exactly what's in the games that make it so "normal people" won't like it? Some deep hidden plot or character tropes only gamers understand? Or are you just being a bully because upsetting the kids that got better grades than you is your only joy?

@DiscussingFilm Lmao gamers are so entitled. 'Stay true to the source' = make it for the 12 people who beat the legendary edition on insanity. Just make it a generic space soap opera and let normal people enjoy it. Cope harder nerds

Amazon's new head of TV has requested that the ‘MASS EFFECT’ series should be rewritten to appeal to “non-gamers.” A greenlight for the series is expected shortly. (Source: theankler.com/p/why-is-peter…)

@ikogan_ @WholesomeMeme While true, needs for survival and basic comfort trump this kind of fulfilment, and as I've said, we can't wait to find someone that really really loves cleaning the bathroom and such chores. This gen needs to get over itself.

@reddthesock @WholesomeMeme Very untrue. Deep down even you want to work but you will need to find the kind of work which satisfies you. There's visceral pleasure in challenging the mind to create/build something which you can't get if you are in relaxed state 24/7.

To the Amazon bot that will see this, a customer service complaint: if my packahe can't be delivered, I want the EXACT reason why, not a link to possibilities. I've reordered, but take ownership of your mistakes.

@kevinbolk I think people are overthinking. They expect metaphor, commentary or character arcs in everything, and there's nothing wrong with a straight line "can we stop the bad guy" plot. If it wasn't based in anything could you accept it as just being weird and fun to be weird amd fun?

“It’s a great movie! If you’re a fan of the games, you’ll love it!” Okay, but what about the critics and the majority of the population who don’t know or play the games? “They’re braindead and hate fun!” Uh…right.
